Was it just those two themselves who came up with the name ? If it was then why are Slash,Duff & Matt so pissed about Axl still calling the band Guns N' Roses if it was Axl who co-invented the name.I can understand why their pissed about being forced out of the band but why do they have a problem with a name they didn't even invent.If this is the case then Axl has every right to call the band Guns N' Roses.?

It's not about who invented the name (who in their right minds would care about that?), it's what the name stands for. They had a very succesful, defining period in their lives under that name and I can imagine it's hard for someone to take that name and change what it once stood for.

The band is called Guns N Roses. Axl can do this because he owns the band.

The name if you think of it would be properly spelled: Guns' and Rose's which means simply Tracii's and Axl's band.

But the fact who 'invented' the name doesn't mean anything.

They are pissed because what GNR is doing in 2 months, VR didn't manage to do in 2 years.
The guy stays out of the headlines and media in general for fuck knows how long and yet, when he comes out of his shell he's still this huge success, and everybody is talking about him. Plus the shows are selling out very quickly.

I think you're overstating it a little bit, but yeah... it's the name that's selling the tickets more than anything else at the moment

even tribute bands are doing bigger venues now...so thats another examle which shows that name sells.

What? You serious? VR has been in Belgium a few times (festivals only though), mostly just below headliners, playing in front of lots of people.
