hi evry1
its been 13 years since i last saw GnR live .
that was at milton keynes.
it was the 3rd time id seen the band, previously saw them at gateshead stadium
in 92 and at wembley in 91.
wembley 91 was the best live gig i have ever seen. a blazin hot day, people building
human pyramids(naked)beer flowin, joint smokin, it was brilliant.me an 3 mates drove down from durham in n/east . i remember that 1 off our best mates was getting married that day,we were all invited to the wedding, but goin 2 see GnR
live or your best mate get wed?Huh no contest.
the gig blew our minds. get in the ring/ you could be mine/sweet child/patience/
paradise city/ welcome to the jungle/ were mesmerising. but when slash launched into his godfather solo was the moment that sticks out in my mind.
we ended up sleeping in the car in wembley industrial estate after getting out of our tits on weed and an unexpected visit from the coppers who had a good laugh at us.
gateshead stadium 1 year later, loads of beer n weed again, another red hot day, another great live experience.me and my then girl friend, her mate an my mate went.
another year later, me an my girlfriend had tickets for milton keynes, we split up a couple of weeks before so my mate got her ticket.hired a brand new rover to drive down ,found an off license an bought 8 cans each. realised we coudnt take them into the bowl with us , so we drank them 1 after the other as fast as we could in front off the amazed security staff at the gates. got inside an went straight to the beer tent, were told we couldnt buy snakebite,so we bought four lager an four cider an made our own. it pissed down with rain most of the day. then we realised we had left our weed in the car, some young kids near the front didnt object when i taxed  a 12inch
joint of them. another blistering show, G n R delivered just what we expected. back to the car after the gig  we decided that despite all the alcohol and the weed id consumed it would be safe to drive 220 miles back 2 the n/east.dont quite know still how i managed to do it but we got home in 1 piece. next day the car was due back at the rental place at teeside airport. my mate drove the rover an i followed in my dads car. because it pissed down the day before , an we had parked in a field ,the car was covered in mud, we thought we should put the car in the car wash. so after floggin the engine 130mph to milton keynes, driving back pissed up n doped up through the night, my mate puts it through the car wash forgetting to put the radio aerial down
an snapping it off. managed to push it back in and didnt tell the rental people what  had happened. never heard from them either.forgot to tell you that 1week before the gig i started seeing another girl who since then i married ,had kids, an split up with a couple of years ago. Gn R are playing n/castle arena next month, me an my old mate are goin, but this time we getting a rental car!!! beer
looking forward to it , if you bump into 2 forty year olds called craig & baz, stop an say hi.
thanx for reading if your still here
see you at the arena

Na it won't have been Get In The Ring, it was never played live, Axl said the record spoke for itself on the album so there was no need to play it live.

It's 15 years for me since I didn't see them live.

It's the only time GNR have been in Finland, two gigs in August 1991. All my friends went, but I didn't. And to this day, I still don't know why I didn't. I loved the band then - hell, everybody loved them then. Maybe I was just too much of a mama's boy not to go, but I have been regretting it ever since.

I still remember the day of the first Helsinki gig like it was yesterday. I remember the van they had loaned from somewhere so that they could make the drive with one vehicle (and only one would have to be sober). I remember the van parked in the lot near our usual hanging place at the time when they were waiting for everybody to arrive. I remember how warm it was that day, how they played GNR on the car stereos. A friend of mine even had some bootleg tape that had Don't Cry, November Rain, The Garden, and a few other tunes that would officially come out only a month later. I remember how another friend, an older guy with a wife and kids, who wasn't into GNR or music in general, answered his wife when she asked where everyone was going. "They go to Helsinki to see some drug addicts who weigh 45 kgs [100 lbs] each." It doesn't sound that good when translated and written down, but I can still hear his mocking-pissed-off-sarcastic voice when he said that. It was 15 years ago and still I remember it all so damn clear. It must have been very traumatizing for me NOT to see Guns N' Roses.

Needless to say, when they announced another GNR gig in Finland back in 2001 or 2002, can't remember which, I was there to buy a ticket when the sale started. I got the ticket, but we all remember what happened to that Euro tour. I was pretty sure at the time that I will not ever get to see Axl Rose live.

Now I have tickets to two GNR gigs on back-to-back days, and there's less than three weeks to those. "Feeling excited" is a bit of an understatement. Watching the tour progress, I'm even sure that the gigs will take place this time, too.

But...there's always something. I start in a new job on Monday. I don't have a clue what they are expecting from me three weeks from now. I sign the contract first thing on Monday, and the next thing I'll probably do is to announce that I'm not going to be working July 5th-7th. I don't care what the label for my freedays at that time is, or if I'm getting paid or not, but I'm not going to be in town then. If they sack me on the spot, so be it!
