Why wasn't I born in the 60s or 70s so I could see the original lineup? Cry crying
why you aren't happy getting to see the cover band hihi Maybe it's better, then you'd have to watch axl and friends after knowing the real gnr your entire life...

Axl does sound great though..

I'm happy to see Axl, but to see Axl,Slash,Izzy,Duff and Steven (or Matt..?) would be a dream come true? drool
Isn't it hard to see old footage and stuff? It's for me, and I am a pretty new fan..

Whens the last time motley had a hit record/single?? I'm not talking about concerts.? Motley is more well known today for the sex tapes and vince neil/tommy lee reality shows then for their music.

Last summer Motley had two hit singles.  If I Die Tomorow got tons of airplay, and so did the video for the song.  Sick Love Song wasn't as big, but it still got some decent airplay as well.  Red, Whie & Crue charted at #6, and it was a 2 disc compilation.  I'd bet any amount of money when they put out their new album (sometime next year probably) it debuts in the top 5.  In fact, I guarantee it will debut at at least #2 on the charts.  Just because you didn't continue to follow these bands, that doesn't mean no one else does.

"hit singles"Huh?  Out of curiousity, which charts are you talking about?  The billboard "mainstream rock tracks"Huh HAHAHAHAHAHHA Gimme a break.  Thats a JOKE and you know it.  The billboard top 100 is what matters.  I hardly call that a "hit".  "Oh my god" was on that chart too and that song was NOT a hit.  Infact it sucks.

Red, white and crue did well, but it was a best of - it sold on the OLD songs, not the 1,2 new tracks on the disc.  Infact, the album review on billboard.com for Red white and crue starts out with this line "Despite not having had a hit since the late '90s,"   Give me a break dude.  YOU might like the crue still, but the only song you're going to hear on mainstream radio is "home sweet home" when they are doing an 80s weekend or something.

That's total BS, dude.  I hear the Crue on the radio all the friggin' time.  Its also amazing that you know exactly why people bought Red, White & Crue.  I already had all the old songs on it.  The main reason I bought it was the new stuff which I wanted to hear.  You really don't know what you're talking about hear.  The band has been on the road for more than a year playing to packed arenas, and a 2 disc compilation with only 3 new tracks on it went to #6 on the charts.  That shit doesn't happen to bands who do not still have a very significant following.

You're missing the big picture here dude.  Obviously the crue still has a decent sized fan base, they prob have some new fans too with all of the off stage stuff that neil and tommy have done, but they are not a big band anymore, their time has come and gone, just as 90% of all the other 80s bands have.  I was saying how to me, Guns is different b/c when CD drops it will be popular amongst the mainstream, not just die hard guns fans.  I don't think there are any casual Crue, Poison, Warrant fans out there, not many at least.  You do not hear any NEW motley songs on poplar radio, maybe classic rock stations or places like that, but not on the same stations that play new U2, kanye west and other music that is popular TODAY.  You DEFINITELY don't hear the latest Warrant and Dokken tracks on mainstream radio either.

I'm glad you are a big motley fan, I like some of their stuff too, but its just not nearly as big as it was.

Funny.? I've never heard either of them.? Then again, Motley Crue isn't played on any of my local rock radio stations, barring those "Rock of Eighties" special programs (which, at best, would mean the Crue are played five times a week).

Well of course Crue's not as big as they were.  I'm not quite sure what constitutes a "big band."  I think a band that has done what Motley has done in the past year and a half is pretty big.  If Axl ever gets CD out it will most likely make a bigger manstream splash than Motley.  But I don't think there'll be as big a difference as many of the people around here may think.  I think many of you have trouble separating your perceptions from reality.  Axl is an amazing performer, and in my opinion the greatest frontman of all time.  That being said, until he gets back with the old band, his best days and biggest successes are behind him as well.  I'm sure CD will probably go to #1 and sell a few million copies in the US.  But if you're expectig any more than that I believe you're gonna wind up dissapointed.
