Thats so strange. I have had that exact same dream.
And also when I was 12 (10 years ago) I had a dream that a new GN'R cd was out but the cover of it was the helmet of the red ranger from the power rangers, and the songs were unheard of to.
But I think I dreamed that coz that year the Power rangers movie soundtrack came out with matt on drums for the power rangers band playin the power rangers theme song.
GO GO POWER RANGERS.

Didn't Buckethead play the theme to that?

I quite like Catcher in the Rye it's a good song and would probably fit well on CD.

Not sure. Just know that matt played drums for it. He does a mad little solo b4 the song kicks in to. Its awesome

Of all the leaks, the one I am least sure about is CITR, as they have not played it live yet.
After hearing IRS, Better and TWAT live in New york, it's evident to me that those 3 songs were leaked intentionally, and will be on the new CD.
With Brian May confirming CITR was with him on guitar, that was probably recorded 6-7 years ago. I love the song, but realize it probably will be released on CD #2.
I don't think Checkmate is real as it sounds like a really bad metal bar band.
As far as the other 7 songs we haven't heard, who knows. That will be the best bet. Could very well be 7 titles we've never heard of before.

I don't think CITR will make the cut.
It's really, really boring.

Wait until you hear the final product before you make such a harsh criticism...

To me, Catcher has the potential to be a staple at future shows a la SCOM or even Jungle ok

Sorry... I don't like being put to sleep when I'm listening to a hard rock band.
That song is so uniform and mind numbingly plain. There's nothing special about it.

Love the na na nas. Very Beatlesesque. Appropriate to, considering it's about Lennon's assassination.

Not to mention that any song that features a "Na Na Na" vocal portion always proves to be a huge radio hit...

Just see "All the Small Things" by Blink-182...

Tom DeLonge even admits that song catapulted the band's fame due solely from the ever catchy "Na Na Na" portion of the song... Wink

I just hope there's plenty of songs we haven't heard already.

I also hope there's a decent booklet with the album too.  I remember when I first got the Illusions in '91 and I spent hours looking at the cd booklets.

Regarding "Catcher"...

I think this is a big song.  Maybe not with the younger/pop audiences, but definitely with an older/more serious crowd.  The Beatles & Fleetwood Mac influences are all over the damn thing, with the Brian May throwback guitar riffs and the driving piano force of November Rain.  No matter what album it comes out on, this is going to be a killer.

As for the rest, definitely The Blues, Madagascar, IRS, TWAT, Better and Chinese Democracy.  How could anyone think the title track wouldn't be on the album?

Oh, and hey, where are these supposed "real" alternate versions that were supposed to surface? Are we still poring over the fan-made fakes?  Screw this, time to turn up Rhiad/Riyadh (spell it however the f*ck you want - we won't know until it's listed officially, anyway...or performed again and someone takes a shot of the prompter)...

I agree.  I love the new songs I've heard - Better, The Blues, etc. - but I'm really hoping to be surprised by some killer new songs as well.

CITR is a good song. I don't know why some are bashin it. I think it could become a great song if re-worked for a future album. I can see Rose working on it more for a future album.

the sanctuary press release stated that he played 6 songs from CD at hammerstein, and then listed IRS, Better, There Was a Time, Madagascar, Chinese Democracy, and The Blues

so it is a safe bet that these are on there. also Axl has said on several occasions that the cd is 13 tracks. we know six, the other seven is anyones guess, but i dont think catcher in the rye is on it. he didnt sound to confident about that one on the trunk show.

Ya know, I don't like how he's playing half of his album so we can all hear it before it's released..., but I guess that's good in different ways. I just want it out on the shelves so I can be surprised when I hear it!!

Eulogy of a broken heart always sounded like a cool name to me.........

I always hoped this would be a song as well.   It's a great title, and with Axl's piano and lyrics could be an amazing song.....
