Axl Rose Background info

People who've known him for years say that he is an incredible person, very kind, gentle, generos, funny, smart. Sure, we all have our good and bad sides. And he's also sick - he's manic-depressive, and it really messes with your mood.
Axl has been working with children who had gone through abuse, he could really relate to them since he'd been abused, too. He's donated a lot of money to charity (animal care, orphans, sexual abuse victims etc.). When he was with Stephanie Seymnour, he got really attached to her 2 year old son, Dylan. He had very good relationship with him, wanted to adopt him. When Stephanie left him, he really missed Dylan, really cared about him. He also let Beta Lebeis, Stephanie's assistant back them, to stay in his house with her son, until today. She was unemployed back then, Stephanie fired her or something, I think. And he supported her (they are not involved romantically, by the way).

2)Yes, he has gained weight. But some of it is muscles, too, he's been working out for a few years in kick-boxing.

3) I'm not sure whether it's a wig or just hair-extentions. I've heard he began losing his hair in his late 20s. But still, he's not bald.

4)I have absolutely no idea about Axl's favorite ice cream flavor. I've been searchig for this for about half an hour yesterday. Although I'm pretty sure I've seen in some website, about 3 years ago, that he loved chocolate ice cream. I'm not positive it's true, though.

5)First of all, Axl's mother died of cancer in May 28th, 1996. Axl's relationship with his parents wasn't very good. His mother divorced his biological father, William Rose, when he was 2, and married another man, Stephen L. Bailey, later. Stephen L. was physicaly abusive towards Axl and his two siblings, Amy and Stewart. He was very strict with them, and also extremely religious. Axl's mother didn't do anything to prevent this - according to Axl, she was afraid of being alone, without a man. His relationship with his mother wasn't good at all, ever since he was a baby she picked his step father over him, which made him feel very frustrated and hustile towards women.
When Axl was 16, he was kicked out of the house, rumors say it was because he refused to cut his hair. And he was very wild, very bad behavoir, was arrested a few times, and smoked opium, did acid etc.
Later on, when he got famous, he had sort of a family reunion in 1991. He brought the whole family from Indiana, and I heard that it didn't end well. But despite that, his relationship with his siblings, especially with his sister, are very good, even now. He's been very supportive of his sister, who had been molested by Stephen L., and he even gave her a job and also let her live in his house in the 90s.
His relationship with his step dad are OK, at least were Ok in the 90s. I guess they resolved some issues back them. He's got no relationship at all with his real father, William Rose, since he was murdered in 1984 and his body was found in some lake in Chicago.

6)I don't think he is hiding, I guess he's just been very very busy with the album. He was very stressed, he's gone through a lot of problems with GnR, bandmates leaving and all that, I'm sure he just wanted some quiet time for himself. But he's not much of a recluse, he is walking on the streets a lot, with friends and family.
