Single during Summer shows?

A single during the summer shows sounds like the perfect way really build the GNR momentum and get the hype going for the album!

Its just amazing that all this is really happening.. we'll get to hear Chinese Democracy this year!

A single is the bare minimum any band should have available to both their fans and the general public prior to going on to tour, or while on tour...

i think a single after the new york shows would be great and maybe an album to the end of the european tour and then go back home and tour the shit out of north america

A single? Wow, that's great news, at least when they do it we'll know Chinese Democracy is finally going to be released. I mean, they wouldn't release a single and 10 years later release an album, would they?

I think they'll film live footage for a video @ the NY shows, and then release a single and a video early juneish.....but i was saying late april/early may before so I really don't know anything just guesses like everyone else...my idea makes sense to me though

In most cases. I remember The Prodigy releasing two singles ("Firestarter" in March 1996 and "Breathe" in November 1996) before the album came out in June 1997.

I think they should release a single during the European tour to pump up American fans, and release the album a week before the US tour starts. Very unlikely, but would be awesome.

I don't think its unlikely.  It would make a lot of sense actually...
its funny how we Guns fans don't expect anything along the lines of what makes sense!  lol!!!

I think the Guns camp actually sets out to do things that make sense... but in the long standing tradition of GN'R things just go off-road.  I'd think we've all had enough anomolies to date and hope and wish that things go a bit more to plan for GN'R.

You're correct...BUT...this isn't any ordinary band, and this isn't any ordinary album. Any album that take 13 years to make, doesn't require the normal marketing strategy.

If a single were to be released, the album should come out no later than a month than that single hitting radio. If all we can get from Axl is a single, then it's worthless. To wait this long and only see one official song is a waste.

Release a single? fine, but I want a hard street date for Chinese Democracy, a track list, and art for the album.

I'm starting to think that maybe we won't get any info until the show on Monday night. Then maybe the website will be updated first thing on Tuesday morning with everything you listed.
