Here Today...

« on: April 20, 2006, 11:30:14 AM »

Hey everybody.

I just finished voting for Axl at NME.com...check it out:

http://www.nme.com/news/bob-dylan/22837

I said:

My vote is for Axl Rose.
Not only is his (Guns N' Roses) music timeless, but unlike 'heros' like Kurt Cobain, Elvis, or Johnny Rotten, Axl lived a true Rock N' Roll lifestyle and is tough enough to be around to tell about it, unlike some other panzies who couldn't hack it!

I like your vote, but it may not be the most accurate--as Johnny Rotten is still alive!

When's the last time Axl's spoken??? When's the last time Axl's put out an album??

My vote's for Cobain, hands down. Changed rock music with one swift stomp of a distortion pedal.

When was the last time Cobain's spoken?

Cobain also the top of his own skull off with a shotgun "with one swift stomp" because he knew his career was going down the tubes along with the whole grunge movement.

AXL ROSE

I remember being 6 years old, my cousin told me about this band i should know... Guns N' Roses! He practically forced me into them, telling me there was a special underground (in caves) club only for people who are fan of GnR! I bought all the cd's back then and I'll never forget how much You could be mine came on MTV back then. Oh My God, Guns N' Roses with my favorite actor (I was 6 remember!) Arnie, then I saw the redhead, I saw him scream and move like a lunatic!

I've never stopped loving the man since, and after seeing him live in 2002 for the first time I became a hardcore AXL fan! Till this day i'm on the net everyday checking for news, the greatest soap opera there is!

Now I'm gonna see him 3 times, life has never been brighter...

I wouldn't be the person I am now without Axl!

THANK YOU AXL ROSE

Greeting,

dave

..as Johnny Rotten is still alive!

Yes indeed, alive and well.

They ought to revoke Oasis1's vote merely on that fact alone .. yes

Kurt Cobain, lol. He was responsible for most of the crap on the airwaves during the 90's. I am so glad he can't make more music. Not happy he is dead mind you, because that's not cool, i just can't stand him.

Kurt Cocaine is also the reason for all the shitty fuckin music these days. He killed the music industry. I'd rather have the 80s hairball music than the shit we get today.

I love GNR music, but I don't think Axl has had anywhere near the influence of people like Lennon, Dylan, or Cobain.

I think the best judge of such a subjective thing as music is by looking at the impact on peers and those who follow

Just because he didn't hang around as long.

In his hey-day, there was no one more influential.

Since his departure, no one has come close.

Soooo true!!
Here's what I said:

"My rock hero is a great man by the name of W. Axl Rose.

That man means so much to me.... he escaped a reeeally shitty childhood and became one of the most inspirational and influential people in the world, and whatever anyone says, I think people should take a leaf out of Axl's book and just be themselves.

He may have made a few mistakes, but to me that just makes him human... and human is real, and REAL is what Rock N' Roll is all about. To me, Axl is the epitome of the very expression "Rock N' Fuckin Roll".

Axl is a genius, musically and otherwise, and I would love to sit down with him and have a really long talk about random issues because I think he'd make for an amazing conversation. I'd also love to give him a big warm hug... as an attempt to show him that amongst all the haters and shitstirrers, there are people who care about him.

Fuck Scotty-boy Whineland... Axl IS, WAS, and ALWAYS WILL BE Guns N' Roses!!"

Thank god. You really like the cheeseball 80's makeup wearing bands singing  about Cherrypie? I'll take Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam.....etc any day over that crap.

The early 90's was the greatest period of Music for me. So many bands at the top of their fame and many really good bands just starting.....GNR, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Faith No More, STP
