Here Today...

« on: March 23, 2006, 11:46:15 PM »

I recently purchased this book on Ebay and it never showed up in my mailbox.  How is it?

Anybody read it?  I just became aware that Axl mentioned this man in Get In The Ring.

My English not so good, please refrain.

Mick Wall is obsessed with GNR, his whole career has been fed off GNR's popularity.

Are you joking?  Shocked That is without doubt the most pathetic rock biography of any band that I have ever read

Mick Walls is a good read, less a book and more a collation of interviews he conducted with members on their ascent to megastardom

Gives some great insights into the personalities at play

and why is that?

totally one-sided account (Axls)

in the brief (1/2 page) mention of Izzys departure, it claimns the reasons he left were because he was too lazy. It also claims that this was not a major loss to the band?

other than that, its riddled with factual inaccuracies, pitiful grammar and several spelling mistakes

Agreed... it goes into no detail once so ever.. everything in that book.. wait a minute i could have written that. no problem. There are som many things left out, important pieces which are too brief.. it was a good read, but no one has yet to make the ultimate GNR book, like i said above, one of the guys excluding Matt, Gilby, Dizzy and Steven should help write it.

Its an amusing read, kinda like the things I read on the toilet. I do like Mark Putterford's Over the Top; The True Story Of Guns N' Roses....
