SNL is in the toilet, has been for a long time.  This would be the wrong place to play.

Actually they have had some great press lately, actually giving them thumbs up.

Personally I have to agree; people have been saying that show sucked since 1981........

Alright so maybe it's a little far-fetched. ?I found the upcoming schedule and they're not on it.

Saturday, 5/13/06 (New): TBA/Paul Simon

Sunday, 5/14/06 (Classic):Jamie Foxx/Blink 182 (oa:1/8/00)

Saturday, 5/20/06 (Season Finale): TBA

Of course the finale is TBA, 3 days AFTER their 2 shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom. ?

And I wouldn't call System of a Down BYOB radio and TV friendly. ?Catchy yes, but they swear through the chorus and they even let one slip through the censors on SNL last year. ?You're right about the length of songs though. ?System's songs are nice and short. ?GNR could play IRS, clocking in in just over 4 minutes. ?

What has Blink 182 done lately. The Producers could easily axe them for a slot next season.. Maybe offer them the season premiere spot, and replace them with GnR. That or the whole Blink think could be a cover up, knowing GnR is playing. It'll be a sad night for a bunch of 15 yr old girls waiting to see blink and suddenly when they come back from commercial an aging rock star with a hockey jersey is onstage paired with a man with a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and a William Shatner mask?!!

J/k, I know BH may not be in the band anymore. Although it may not be a strong possibility, it isn't out of the question. SNL seems to be promoting alot of skits online now too, for those who don't catch it they may make both GnR sets available for viewing online.

the only way you get on snl these days is if you have an album to promote.? so no, they won't be on.
I don't think GN'R needs an album to be on SNL.....anyone would love to have Axl on their show even if he wasn't gonna sing anything new.

Pearl Jam is tearing it up!!  Love them or hate them, one cannot deny the talent!!  Awesome!  I love that song, more than anything from them since Vitalogy!

There's only one problem: live t.v. Axl would have to be ready ON TIME and ready to sing not once, but TWICE.  I like to believe in miracles as much as anyone, but the liklihood of Axl being ready for both songs (they still do two songs, right? it's been so long since I've watched that shitty show) is a longshot.

But then again, anything's possible.

To do SNL they need a single, and I think it is too late by now to have one released by mid-May. Usually, it is a single that has been released  for a while and has a great following, so one month is not enough time.
