^^^Its funny when people say stuff like that...while not as dramatic looking as the 2002 lineup, when AFD GNR came out they were VERY different looking then most bands at the time.? Slash didn't even look human compared to other lead guitarists and NOBODY moved like Axl.? Izzy was a wierd looking dude too.

But yeah, I know a lot of people who took one look at the band and weren't interested in hearing the music based on that (which is a tad closed minded, but somewhat understandable).

While BH is an amazing guitarist, I don't know if I ever bought into his gimmick - I think it took away from his playing and got more people talking about his bucket and hand puppet then how ridiculously amazing he is with the guitar.

Yeah they were different looking, they didn't where more makeup than the chicks in their videos

as for the new band, it's not just buckethead but seeing him looked like seeing Jason with a guitar, put a mask on his head, and fink looks exactly the same.....

I have a good feeling about this album, I am and always have been very excited at the prospect of having it. I think Axl does kinda have another chance at mainstream success, just looking at the careers of people like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Morrissey and Prince, I really think that a style of music/a once-popular artist can come back into the limelight, with a level of respect that only experience/age can acquire.

Here's hoping anyway. ok

But for all we know, the leaks we have NOW easily can be created in or before 2002 - or even older (CITR). So that prooves nothin'.

It only prooves that security failed in 2006 and didnt fail in 2002. It doenst proove any progress musicwise.

at one point GnR was the most dangerous band on the planet

watching footage of their 2002 tour it looked like the circus came to town

People seem to forget that GNR was a joke right after and during the UYI period. Not everyone bought "the most dangerous band in the world" thing that some people love talking about. Even on the earliest AFD reviews people who liked the music didn't like the image. Am I the only one who remembers how everyone called them scumbags? Not to mention how bloated they got. People sometimes have selective memories.

When I would go to my friend's record store and mention GNR people would laugh. Yes, they are snobs, but they have great taste in music  hihi But when they heard Tommy and Buckethead were in the band they actually got excited. This circus could actually end up getting more respect than the old line up.
