I think it?s a pretty bad analogy... Hendrix exploded out of nowhere, playing like no-one else before. Axl is a really well-known singer of a pretty-well known band that?s decades old. He?s considered a wacko and a has-been by some, and a talented musician by others; TONS of people have different expectations for CD. Nobody was EXPECTING Hendrix. He was different, that?s it.

Besides, if Axl does indeed explore new grounds with CD, they?ll be concerning songwritting and song structure, things like that. He won?t revolutionize singing, he won?t do what Jimi did for guitar playing. Hendrix the songwriter wasn?t ground-breaking. He had great songs with out-of-this-word playing, but nothing special in terms of composition per se.
