The plant authrorities had disengaged all the safeties to try and get more power - and managed to blow the thing up

Gotta feel bad for the fire crews that went in to deal with the it knowing they had no chance of surviving it

Nah its not that bad its takes time and over time like years being contaminated you would face problems but the radiation has infected the wildlife there and ppl there eat the wildlife so that creates another prob...

anyways you wont catch me loidering there

I know that when that happend people over here in the netherlands weren't allowed to drink milk produced by dutch cows, because those had eaten grass wich was contaminated by radio active particles...and we're a long way from chernobyl so the effects were pretty wide spread.
