Im actually slepitacal about all the tunes we heard since 2002 will be on the album, unless it does indeed turn out to be a double album, then I can see it, but my feelin is that the last 3 tracks we heard leaked , IRS, TWAT, and BETTER will be on the album. JMO

I tend to agree with krispeKreme's take on the new material.....it's OK...but to wait 10 years for this???

and to say it's better than AFD or UYI is about the funniest thing I ever heard IMO

hopefully there are some stronger tracks than what I've heard so far

IRS, Better, TWAT all have potential

CD, The Blues, Maddy also have potential

Silkworms, Rhiad, and Oh My God suck balls

I mean, i listened to IRS about 30 times when i 1st heard and was psyched, only cause it was a song that OK

Obviosly I'm in the minority on this.....but friends of mine that are not die hard GnR fans suffered through me playing the leaks and pretty much thought IRS, Better, The Blues, and Madagascar all sucked ballsand that nothing the new band does will compare favorably to AFD or UYI.

Though I am looking forward to hearing a finished version of CD to see what songs made the final cut and how they sound.

Hello, I am an older gunner, seen them in 88, 92, 2002,. I cant stop listening to twat, is it me, or if you seen them in 1992, can you see this song live? Axl at the piano, with his drinks, bandanna, and glasses, slash smoking a cig, bent over playing the solos. Horns, violins, in background! You had to witness Nov rain live live to know the feeling! I can see him and the new band with this one. It better happen! Sorry guys, just remembering some old good times!

Hey good post. I was hoping that, that what these songs would sound like. I personally have refused to listen to the leaks just because I want to wait to hear them on the album properly. But yes my fav guns era was that kind of thing with the horns etc. Seeing them live in the late eighties & especially early nineties were experiences I will never forget. I am really thinking that this album is going to blow people away when it comes out! Mike P.S Its good to remember old times when it comes to Guns!

-I have to disagree.  I think about the first time I heard Civil War, or Estranged, or even something off of Appetite.  It takes getting used to, a lot of listens.  To me, Axl's voice alone makes me want to give his stuff more than one listen, and then I like it.  The new stuff is a great example.  IRS to me sounds the best, because it's polished, but I see great potential in the other two songs.  I don't think anyone should make a snap judgement at this point, until we hear the completed versions.

The 1st time I heard AFD, i listened to it every day till the Illusion albums came out and never got sick of it.

I liked the Illusion albums but there were actually songs I skipped

The new stuff is like moss, it takes time to grow on you.

I think honest discussion and give and take are legitimate and welcome. People have different opinions, and that  is to be expected, and, frankly, healthy. What is not healthy is when so-called fans turn into Nazis and want to silence any dissenting voice. Where in the rules does it state that this board is only for opinions that glorify Axl and everything he does? Show me the rule or shut up. And how does that attitude fit into a democractic society (I am assuming  that most readers/poseters are from democratic societies since authoritarian  societies censor the  internet). So, as far as I am concerned, this board is about free speech and the right to express both positive and negative views  about the new band, the new music, and Axl himself. Personally, I prefer the old  band and the old music. But as I have stated explicitly, I am open to the new music, but it must win me over. I am not going to gush all  over it just because it is from Axl or has  the GNR name attached to it, which in my opinion is not the real GNR at all.

November Rain (or "Sweet Loraine" for the oldschool gunners) done live sounds nothing today like it did in 92.. The raw, scrappy version lives forever in the minds of those that saw them in their prime.  As of late, the sounds are blank repetitions that sound like studio renditions with a crowd in the foreground.  I miss the old day's when there was feeling in every song played.. now its too much of a coverband playing somebody elses tunes
