Silverchair performed a few days after GNR's set, right?

So the crowd wasn't responding to them and the lead singer was trying to be funny and get them to cheer. He couldn't get them to cheer for Silverchair, so he tried to get the crowd to cheer for Guns N' Roses. They still wouldn't cheer, so he said "whatever".

He wasn't ribbing the crowd, he was trying to be nice and get them to participate.

He was ribbing the crowd because they wouldnt cheer for them. So he joked about  being happy about seeing gnr. That is what I was talking about. He was having fun with the crowd.
