i was at this riot and it was to be my guns n roses experience. instead i got a different guns n roses experiance all together, but to get to the point, i always wonder what the fuck happened, what could have went wrong???
But looking at the happy birthday robin post NOV 7 . what a fucking bummer for robin, instead of rocking out on his birthday on NOV7 in vancouver on the tours opening date he gets a fucking riot. But what a great preasent from uncle AXL

Be careful where you place that blame, my friend. Always so easy to blame the band leader.

Do you think by sparking up a thread you're going to randomly get an answer from the Internet community three years later?? Like someone out there knows and had totally forgotten about it until he saw "Vancouver riot" and he just then remembered the real story.?

My thought...Axl was at another Knicks game that night and thought that he could fly from NY to Vancouver in under a half hour but then the plane ran into a hail storm.? It then had to make a detour landing in Ohio, and Axl boarded another plane that instead of fighting the storm, decided it was quicker to go around the world the other way to get to Vancouver.? Somewhere over Nigeria the plane ran out of gas.? Mix Master Michael was then told that he would have to put another record on his platform and act like he was doing something for another 35 minutes.? Axl's new plane took off from Nigeria and was over the Pacific Ocean when all of a sudden MMM's blow up dolls ran out of air.? As they began to deflate he said he couldn't do it anymore and walked off.? Vancouver officials then realized the concert was in jeopardy and called it off.? Thus starting your Vancouver riot.?

And who gives a flyin fuck about their own birthday anyways after you turn about 12?? Robin was 31 that day.? Big woo hoo.? It's not like he was just turning 5.?

Blame Uncle Axl, Blame the New York Knicks, Blame Canada, but most of all Blame Nigeria!!!

look i love axl iam not placing the blame on him at all. what i was getting at was that it was robins birthday that dreadful night it would have been a great for me and for robin if the show was to go on. Iknow it was the venues fault for the riot, what did they expect was going to happen. sorry for the post guys i will never post here again, because every time i do i get fucking chewed out,  peace out and blame BUSH

we all know history repeats itself and people that are gnr fans are qucik to blame axl because this has happened before.. if he was reliable most people wouldn't blame anyone.. When you do your first show in so many years in north america you should at least be sure to get to your show early..

Sometimes wonder if Axl purposly arrived late for that show. Maybe he wasnt feeling the right vibes so decided to stroll in late. Who knows. That tour really got off on the wrong foot.
