Military shares public's declining support for Bush, war
Associated Press
More than half the North Carolina military members surveyed in the latest Elon University poll don't like the way President Bush is handling his job and the war in Iraq.
...
Of the 539 adults surveyed, nearly 53 percent of military members said they strongly disapproved or disapproved of Bush's handling of his job. And 56 percent of that same group said they strongly disapproved or disapproved of his handling of the Iraq war.
Overall, slightly more than 53 percent of those surveyed did not approve of Bush's job performance, while 57 percent didn't approve of his handling of the Iraq war.
The telephone poll was conducted between Monday and Thursday and has a margin of error for the entire sample of plus or minus four-point-three percentage points.

That is a very misleading title. The article says nothing about their declining support of the war, but simply their declining support for Bush's handling of the war.

Thanks.

I have a question about this survey. It says North Carolina military members. Is that national guard and reservists? Is it national guard and reservists who attend the college who conducted the poll maybe? There is a difference between active duty soldiers (who are the ones who handle combat operations) and 20 year old guardmen who joined only for the college money. Before this poll is taken to heart as proof of the military showing declining support for the war, the people surveyed (and margin or erroe) need to be provided and questions relevant to the topic of this particular discussion need be asked. But hey, SLC wouldn't be providing distorted information or half-truths would he to get his own agenda across?

I didn't write the article, merely clipped and posted it from AP.
If you think that is me distorting facts then that is your problem.
