Best Record Ever Made, Plain and Simple!

« on: October 04, 2005, 01:01:42 AM »

Is it true that this album was just GNR playing in a big room and then the crowd was added later?  i heard this on a album review of it off of MXTabs's CD reviewing site.  I was just curious if this was tru, i doubt it but, just wondering.  thanks peace

Yeah the audience was added in later on! Axl says something along the lines of "if you think those tracks are live recordings your stupid, they were added in", he says it in some interview in the late 80s, you can probably find it in the interviews section of this site!

HOLY!!  Thats HORRIBLE!!!  I wonder how the band felt about that!  I wouldnt be happy.  They could have just done a free concert or something!

Wow... I totally look at that albu differently now!

Lol.. guys it was their first EP.. give em a break. They didn't want a poorly recorded real live preformance (because.. it would have poor quality..) .. but they wanted to capture their attitude at the same time. So they faked it...

Axl's right tho... I never thought they were actually live..

Well, it WAS live...in the sense that they weren't in a studio, exactly.

It was just "live" with no audience.  hihi

In addition, I'm sure they could do multiple "takes"...but I don't think they did any "click ins".

Big deal. KISS added crowd noise to their double live album 'Alive' and it was their only really successfull album. Sometimes keeping the audience chatter interferes with the band's sound.  peace

I always like that album even though it never sounded like a live presentation, I agree with the one saying is live without audience  ok
