Let's face it. Axl's project has failed.? When Bucketthead went out, a crucial element of the new GNR was lost. Being the most important lead guitar player of the new band, and having recorded most of the guitar parts of the new songs, his absence forces Axl to hire someone new and re-record buckethead parts. After all, that's Axl style, isn't it? The guy even re-recorded AFD with the new guys, remember? So, since there isn't someone new - we haven't heard from the GNR camp in a while - Axl doesn't even have a band. And this guy Merck told someone this month that the album is ready. If this is true, why it hasn't come out? three possibilities are open: 1) it sucks; 2) axl need a replacement for buckethead, and this means re-recording his parts; 3) the project is dated, since its been in completion for over a decade, and Axl himself doesn't feel it truly represents what he wanted in the first place. Anyway, the recent Dizzy most recent comment reflects our worst fears. He said that " he still trust Axl, and he's been working hard on finishing the album for quite awhile..." This means he doesn't even know whats going on, and all he has, along with the fans, is the vague hope that Axl finally deliver the album to Interscope. About the rumors of the release date, its just wishful thinking. Chinese Democracy, after 10 years in the making, wouldn't come out without releasing first a music video, like happened with "you could be mine", released months before the UYI albums. Its sad. I've been to the rock in rio 3 festival in 2001 and heard Axl say: "next summer will be back with a hole bunch of new songs". We are almost in 2006, Axl. Enough of lies and wishful thinking.

A. Learn to use paragraph breaks, please?

B. Seriously, couldn't you have posted this in dead horse?  You're entitled to your opinion but I have to say you picked kind of a weird place to share it, ya  know?

I believe the Talking Metal podcast was the source. I read it using the link to it available here at heretodaygonetohell.com, in the news section, but apparently the link is no longer working.

well, just for the record, merck said to a journalist that the new record is done, has 3 or 4 rock songs much alike the AFD style and the rest of the songs were "challenging and epic". He also said the album rocks.

I think there are bright aspects too that Chinese Democracy will come out. It depends on which side you're looking at.

Aha!
That's not this month. I guess the article is hearsay, not like what Merck told them or any journalist.

On 25th of august A photographer wrote in his own site that he heard tell of something to that effect from Merck. Check the link below for more details.

If it's true the better, actually.
