There is a car commercial I've been seeing for a couple weeks and something about it is bugging me.

Its for the Passat.  It shows some guys playing football in the street, one of them backs into the passat that's parked behind him.  He flips over the hood and falls down.  At this point the narrator says "Front end pedestrian safety system.  One of the many reasons to buy a new Passat."

So my question is, are they saying you should buy this car because it will hold up better when you run someone down?  Or that you will do less damage to the person when you run them over?  Either way, I find this disturbing.  When you are shopping for a car, should you really be planning ahead for running over people?  Or am I misinterpreting something?

I thought the same, I don't look if the car is safe when I hit a pedestrian or not. (With the speed I drive it doesn't really matter...  hihi). It's more about the 0-60mp/h for me.

Has there ever been an car ad where there race through the city, dangering pedestrians, but somehow managing to pull it off, then there could be a text saying "XXXXX - And You're In Control", that would be cool.

Now, that would surely encourage to drive wild.
Who believes that really?

If someone jumps on the hood of my car, I want them to be hurt.  Not mortally wounded but in a considerable amount of pain for a while at least.
