I THINK BH IS A BIT OF A FREAK AY.
I WAS WATCHING A CLIP AND IT DIDNT EVEN LOOK LIKE HE FELT THE MUSIC HEY.. YEAH HE SOUNDED GOOD BUT HE WAS JUST STANDING THERE LIKE A SOLDIER PLAYING HIS GUITAR.
NO OFFENCE TO B/H FANS,
BUT I DONT THINK HE FITS IN WITH THE REST OF gnr

NOT FREAKY ENOUGH TO TYPE IN ALL-CAPS THOUGH,

sorry must av pressed caps lock. dont need to be rude about it

So in your opinion "sounding good" @ playing music should take a back seat to jumping around and "feeling" it while you bend notes out of tune and butcher solo's?  Huh

Well if you are like me who grew up with gnr and watched slash adn like him it's weird to see a guy like Bh onstage.. Live wise we all  love axl for his sprints and wacky dancing so it would be weird to see soem guy who sings but never moves.. I actually like to see the guy's face for emotion when he plays

Most of the time you couldnt see slashes face behind the hair and top hat!!

Regardless , if you rather see someones "face" while they play out of tune crap before hearing a guitarist actually play in key .. thats cool. Thats personal opinion and I respect that.

Hear! Hear! Not only does he bend them out of tune, he falls behind the tempo of the song. Finck's solos have no fluidity whatsoever, very jumpy and cacophonous.

I agree about the playing out of tune. But I'm gonna try not to judge their playing until the album comes out. Several of the songs have great potential, specifically 'The Blues' and 'Chinese Democracy'. Lyrically, The Blues is one of Axl's finest pieces of work. I think of it as like an anti-love song. You can just feel Axl's desperation in the song. It's almost like he's giving up on life. And I really like 'Chinese Democracy'. Its funny how alot of people fail to recognize how Axl takes a few shots at us in the songs first few verses.

I actually didnt see many live shows until "later on" .. back in 87 I was just becoming a teen and wasnt into trading "tapes" .. hell I guess there wasnt many video tapes of gnr circulating until a lil later on. So for my 1st few years of being a GNR fan Slash was just as mysterious to me as Buckethead! For real.

As for the back handed comment , I think your right man , it was kinda back handed , sorry. I understand whereyou are coming from about "seeing" the emotion ... but I guess I can see the "emotion" when I watch Bucket play. I see it in the way he moves , subtle head banging , lil things he does with his guitar , especially when he starts pushing the stretch starap around .. then you know he's getting into it!

His solo shows are where you see him become most animated , though I should digress.

As for the playing out of tune and the material on the album .. I think what robin plays on the album will be night and day compared to what he does live. Any player in the studio that long has no excuse for any note to be out of tune. Hopefully there will be some memorable guitar work on the album .. just hope it can be replicated live.

if he felt the music and got into it a bit i recon he would have done much better... thats just my opinion... i didnt like the clip i saw cos he was like a statue.. i dont dig that... yeah i would rather see him jumping around and "feeling" the music... wouldnt hurt him to have a bit of enthuziasm
i dont like him anyways, so im glad he has gone!

I can see how fans like "seeing" the performers play the music .. but people can see Buckethead play the music as well. His mask , to him , is his face ... does it matter if you cant see him snarl his lips and grit his teeth while playing?  Huh

All the shows I went to on the 2002 tour, I could not take my eyes off Bucket.
