If they ever get this event together do you think it would be something AXl would try to be a part of with the new GNR?  It would be great exposure, and it is sounding like it would be a huge event(not as big as the first live aid though).  It also seems like something Axl would like for the new gnr to be a prt of(maybe not).

They haven't got it together in 20 years - i wouldn't hold your breathe

And obviously Axl would sign up

But then just as obviously he'd create an excuse to get out of it.....

As Live Aid II takes place on July 2, I would find it highly unlikely that Guns will appear.

U2, The Rolling Stones and Sir Paul McCartney are highly tipped to make an appearance.

I highly doubt thy would make an appearance either, but it would be the type of event that would be a great kickstart for them.

Why not eh! I think it sounds like a great gig to kick things off! The exposure would be fantastic! I reckon there could be a good chance! Until its denied by management then you never know!!! I havent seen too many reports on Live Aid 2 though, where is it being held?

They are holding it in London, and there is also a report that bands might also play in Washington.

It is supposed to be at Hyde Park.  They already cancelled an event that was supposed to be at Hyde Park to give the Live Aid II concer the oppurtunity to use this location.

There are lots of events that NuGNR could play this summer but IMO, I highly doubt they will.

It would be fantastic for him to let all the pressures drop and just do something like this, where it's about the event and  not about him or CD.  Just turn up and rock out.

Elton John may be able to persuade him.   Let's hope he is at least considered/approached.

Hum, it would be a good idea, especially since BG wants his thing for the G8 but then, GNR management should hurry the fuck up. Plus, i am not sure it's international, most live aids were british, so unless axl and the boys go thrugh sanctuary london, i doubt it.

Would axl get on with Bob Geldof ? Undecided

Plus, most live aiders are highly politized people..And axl, as far as i have understood, is very private.

Soooooo

To hell with Live Aid. Axl should do the 'Day On The Green' festival. Its in the bay area. I dont know if the festival still exists or not. Haven't heard about it in a few years. Metallica did it to promote the Black album. Axl could pick 4 or 5 bands he likes to open the show, and then end the show by playing Chinese Democracy in its entirety.

Why would many promoters even want GNR?  They are a proven liability when it comes to honoring contractual agreements.

If the album may drop in Nov/Dec I think Live Aid is too early for the band to play,  unless gnr drop a single that month.

gilld1 makes a very good point. Axl is way too much of a liability to do awards shows, festivals, sporting events, etc. Can you imagine how much the insurance would cost for Axl to play some large event? It would be astronomical!! The risk far outweighs the reward. No shows, riots, Axl insulting the crowd. Not many people are gonna take a chance on him anymore. And thats sad. But he only has himself to blame. But when Axl's in the zone, he's the best performer on earth. So maybe one promoter would take a chance. Lets hope so.
