Just wondering for those of you who dig Village Gorilla Head, what do you think of "Perfect"
Once, Twice, Three Times A Maybe.... I love VGH and was just wondering if Perfect was anything worth picking up...
Thanks in advance!!

I like the Perfect album too. I think it's a more straight forward basic rock album, where VGH has a bit of everything on it.

Perfect sounds more raw, it's a good album I enjoy it.   If you like it you should check out the Squirrels Playing Chicken EP too.

I loved VGH. I thought "Once, Twice, Three Times a Maybe" was alright, but a little too poppy for me. Still a quality album though, just not as good as VGH, in my opinion.

Yeah, Once twice is quite alright, although not as good and diverse as VGH. As Adz said, you might want to check out the EP too. Very fun cover of Crocodile Rock as a hidden bonus.

Also, I urge anyone to pick up the Bash & Pop album. It's unfortunately out of print now, but there are lots of copies on ebay at a more than reasonable price. Buy it. You won't regret it  ok

"VGH" is great-will have to pick up his other releases-"VGH", along with seeing him twice in concert helped make a personal connection with the new band, if that makes any sense. Have not heard Perfect yet.

Once twice is really good, but it is more of a rock record with simple lyrics....VGH seems (to me) to be a much more personal undertaking, very introspective...but if you like one, you will like the other ok

I've seen that a lot of members on here really seem to appreciate Tommy's solo album VGH  smoking Most GNR boards just piss on Tommys solo work because he isn't Axl  Undecided

Anyone here get the other album (released alongside Village Gorilla Head) by his band 'Perfect'. Album is called "Once, Twice, Three Times A Maybe". The songs have been floating on bootleg for bout 6 years now but you should still purchase an official copy. It is an excellent album, not on the same level as VGH but I would recommend it to any TS fans Smiley

Yeh he handles all vocals with backing vocals by Marc Solomon. There's no ballads like Light Of Day but it is a great album from start to finish - personal favourites: Little Drum + Thing I Call My Life.

The album, originally recorded in 1996 was shelved due to the label changing formats (or something to that idea)... It was originally called 'Seven Days A Week'

Get it. Now.

Yeah I know I sound like a broken record, and I will continue to harass you until you have it in your possession. And then there will finally be someone other than myself who understands where the hell my signature comes from  hihi
