I was watching Law and Order:Special Victims Unit last night and it made me remember something I hadn't thought of in many years. Does anyone else remember when Axl and Ice-T were supposed to do a remake of 'Welcome to the Jungle'? I don't remember the exact year, but it was in the early 90's. I know that it never was released, but since Axl hasn't released anything since then, is it possible that this song could still be released? Did they actually record the track? This wasn't just a one time rumour. It was mentioned quite a bit back then but when Axl basically disappeared, so did the talk about this song. Anyone else remember this or have any new information about it??

I'm not sure about the remake of "Welcome to the Jungle," but I will say last night's episode of Law and Order: SVU was pretty good.  ok

I think it was just an idea they had but they never came to actually record the song.

Thanks Pandora. Another question: Do you know if it was gonna be Axl and Ice-T or was it gonna be with Ice-T's metal band Bodycount?

Probably just Ice-T, because it was supposed to be a rap version I believe.

I don't know. Was this rumor pre or post-"One in a Million"? Cause I have to wonder how many minority supporters GNR had after that. I know that Ice-T and NWA seemed to admire Appetite specifically. But maybe that's just because singing about "The Jungle" is closer to gangsta rap than piano ballads are.

Speaking of Gn'R and rap, has anyone seen this before I saw it and this thread reminded me of it? ok It's the project and Cypress Hill, it's okay in my opinion http://cosmos.oninetspeed.pt/slashguitarpage/Videos.html Go down to Number 7: "The Project feat. Cypress Hill - Paradise City"? ok It's from 2003

Ice-T always supported Axl, even after the "One in a million" case. He said they had a thorough discussion about it, and Ice totally understood Axl's position. I used to have a magazine with a very interesting interview where the subject was brought up. Don't know if I still have it.
