From what I heard on the 2002 bootlegs the backing vocals leave alot to be desired! Maybe instead of Axl's voacals holding up the release of CD, it is Axl's frustration with the backing vocals? I know that they can polish up the vocals in the studio, but maybe Axl just isnt satisfied with it yet. Maybe thats why we've heard rumours of other singers coming in to do sessions with the band, to enhance the backing vocals. What do you guys think?

Really?!  Shocked  I really like the backing vocals done live so far (especially on Nightrain and Madagascar). I doubt the backing vocals would hold up anything as they're more of an afterthought most of the time. I few takes here and there and they're done. It's not the same as laying the main vocals down.

Just my 2 cents  Cool

I really don't think the backing vocals on the new songs leave anything to be desired. The ones I heard on Madagascar (from Pittman I believe) are simply gorgeous  ok

I don`t think that the backing vocals are holding up CD ( of course all is possible).
And maybe the voice that sounds like a chick in LALD is a recorded one?

Axl's probably singing the backing vocals, too.

I'm pretty sure Robin and Tommy do the backing vocals in the new songs. Robin does them over the end of Madagascar anyway.

I think this is at least one of the most plausible theories to date.

Probably a long shot from the truth though.
