Ive heard lots of people saying they need announce the release date at least 3 or 4 months befor the date or whatever...My question is why so long?? surely a band with as much interest and speculation as guns dont need that long do they... beer

They honestly don't. 6-8 weeks would be plenty time, as long as they had a single right after the announcement...

uhm really, like doin commercials and teazers? maybe they have tv commercials "in stores now" after the release?

It wouldn't take long to promote it - news would spread like wildfire - the release will after all be a major event, i doubt any one else's release would overshadow this.

4 weeks of intense promotion would be more than enough.

Here in the US, I'd say the Super Bowl would be a great time for a kick ass commercial, that would open some eyes and ears. Or have Arnold say something like " There Back"  world wide. Answer 2 weeks.

aside from myself and the people on this board, i dont know of anyone that gives a rat's ass about chinese democracy  Undecided

but on topic: 6-8 weeks does sound just right..
