Ok, this is a weird one, I just came across this. Has anybody else heard about this show...

05/22/92 - N?pstadion, Budapest, Hungary
attendance: 70,000

notes: It rained throughout the show. Before 'Mr. Brownstone,' Axl says, "Fuckin' Budapest! I could have never believed or imagined I would get to play Budapest... but I am very happy to be here tonight." After 'You Could Be Mine,' GN'R performed a famous Hungarian folk song, 'Tavaszi Sz?l Vizet Araszt.' The English traslation is 'Spring Wind.' Axl sang the first two verses, letting the crowd sing the third. The inspiration to play this song came from Queen playing it at this same venue in 1986. Click here for lyrics to this song. For whatever reason, the band did not perform any solos at this show.

No solo's?!?!? What the f**k was going on there, this seems really bizzare. Why would Slash not do any solo's, there a part of everysong! Anyone shed some light?  Undecided

They're probably talking about stuff like the Godfather theme, or Matt's drum solos.

Maybe it means they didn't do the drum and guitar solos (The Godfather).

I know that Jarmo's right, cuz there's no way a crowd or even Axl would sit through a song like SCOM without the solos, so it was the solos between songs.
I also possess a pretty odd show from GNR in 1992, from around the same time. I think the show was in Germany and it was right before th Paris PPV Special - the show before in fact.  At that show, Axl barely runs, and he sits on stage for most of the show. It is actually quite refreshing - he lets the crowd use their energy and the crowd is going crazy on songs like "LALD" while Axl just chills on the side of the stage sitting down. Right before SCOM, he says the song "is about getting fucked in the ass by a Coke bottle".
Roght before Don;t Cry, he walks over to the mike stand on the side of the stage and just kicks it down for the hell of it and forces his boy Earl to come out and pick it right afterwards.
Axl also introduces himself as "Swing...Mr. Mood Swing".

TRy topping that for the wierdest GNR show ever - though still quite refreshing. Nothing was choreographed by the old Axl, unlike the last tour in 2002 where every move was more or less the same each show. I hope that we can expect more of the old unpredictable Axl when he returns.

Wow rale! You were actually there?!? Amazin!!  ok
That was one o' the biggest attendences the old band had. (not the biggest mind)

That must have been so cool. I soo wish i could have seen the old GN'R Live, to date i've only seen VR. Dont get me wrong they rocked but what i would give for the old GN'R. Hell i'd sell my own mother on ebay to see old GN'R, i'd even start the bidding at ?0.99p  hihi

Did Axl seem pissed off or anything? I wonder why he sat down for most of the show. Someone probably forgot to take out the brown M'M's from the packet that night.

You are talking about '92 here and I'm somehow confused. I remember Axl had torned his ligaments back in 91 while the summer tour in the US. I have some footage from shows in which Axl wears this sort of plaster but he still manages to perform, do his little runs and moves. It would have made some sense if the show you are talking about would have been in '91...why would Axl sit on the stage for most of the show then? That's strange.

On a side note, any other singer would have cancelled the tour if he had torned his ligaments. Axl carried on and performed the best he could. Does Axl care about his fans?

Wow, that must've been the best GNR show ever. To quote Izzy, "...A drum solo? What's more boring than a drum solo?"

just my two cents Axl is now middleaged and he is too old to run around  the stage like he used to.  now he'll just    probably choregraph every show to cut down on the amount of time he will spend running around the stage. he still rocks but age is a knocking and he w ill be answering
