GNR still exist.
Kind of...
if Nirvana were still around (well, Kurt Cobain anyway), they probably wouldn't be as famous as they are because Kurty wouldn't have shot himself. That is the only reason why they call him 'influencial' and call Nirvana 'innovators of grunge' (which was said on MTV yesterday).
(Sigh)
Either youre intentionally wrong, or youre just not familiar with the scene back then.? They call Kurt influential because he was, and still is.? Ive seen members of
many (if not most) new bands cite Nirvana, and Kurt specifically, as an influence (and its not just because he shot himself).? And yes, Nirvana was influential back then as well (which would help explain the nearly 8 million records they sold before Kurts death).? They werent alone (the other 3 big Seattle bands were also very influential), but they were at the forefront, and that fact was recognized before Cobains death.
GNR and Nirvana weren't the only 2 bands in the world during the early '90s, there were bands like Pantera, and Metallica that had their Black Album in 1991 (which was by the way (whether they 'sold-out' our not) a million times better than that garbage 'Nevermind').
Actually it didnt even sell twice as much as "that garbage"
Nevermind.? At the time of
Neverminds last certification (1999),
Metallica had only sold 2 million more copies.? So to say it sold a million times better is kind of stupid, wouldnt you agree?
It makes me sick how Cobain gets his assed kissed to this day, for example, in our Religion lessons at school they use Kurt Cobain as an 'influence' of suicide, (which is pretty pathetic).
Hmm...Im assuming youre still in high school, which would clarify my earlier comment.?
In 1994, Cobain
was an influence in many young peoples lives, including their thoughts on suicide and depression.? And acknowledging that fact isnt what Id call "asskissing"...Just another one of your many mistatements.
