Even though Nirvana and U2 were huge, I'd say GNR.  I was 7 in '92 and I wasn't even watching MTV but even I remember "November Rain" being on all the time (it was on almost even time my brother was watching).

If I remember correctly, in the early 90s November Rain was the second most played video on MTV ever, since the beginning. I believe SledgeHammer was nr1, it is highly overrated imo.

I don't knowwhy everyone talking how nirvana was huge,I listened gnr since 1990 and nirvana never was like gnr.

yes Nirvana wasn't that huge. there is a lot of exageration around that band. GN'R or U2 were way bigger and more popular bands.

Nirvana were popular band,when gnr broke(1993),but now i could see that many young kids whose werent heard for gnr,buy gnr disks.

I remember "November Rain" being on all the time (it was on almost even time my brother was watching).

Guns were by far and away the most popular rock band during the early 90's despite the growing movement sparked by Nirvana.
