Tonight in the UK on the channels: channel 4 and S4C there is a program on called UK Hall of Fame and this week its the 80's Top ten and you have to vote for the best band. Guns N' Roses were on first and it talked about them for about 10mins saying how influential they were etc...

But anyway for the people in the UK the phone number to vote for them is: 09011 33 11 33. On the TV program it says each vote costs 50p so obviously its up to you.

so far they are up against:  The Smiths, Bruce Springsteen, Joy Division, Michael Jackson plus 5 others who are yet to come on...

VOTE GUNS N' ROSES on 09011 33 11 33

Comon people, vote!

On a side note, Channel 4 disgrace themselves with this snippet about GNR on their Hall of Fame webpage:

"Guns N' Roses

Guns N' Roses redefined stadium rock, updating it for a 1980's audience.

They've never had a UK No.1 single but have had five top five albums, including Appetite For Destruction, which sold 20 million copies. With accusations of homophobia in their lyrics the band courted controversy until they disbanded in 2002."

Just as I was celebrating a seemingly uptodate figure of 20 million for AFD, I read the last sentence and realised that they aren't exactly well informed. Oh well.....  Roll Eyes

You heard me dammit.... VOTE!  rant

Some of the other nominees were Public Enemy, Prince and the Beastie Boys (quite a strange choice if you ask me)

I don't think Guns were presented in the best light, it was clear the researcher hadn't done their homework.

Hardly surprising but they didn't ask Noel Gallagher his opinion on GNR!

I expect Jacko will win this, and I'm not willing to part with 50p for a tv programme!  This country is such a fu(king rip off.

I'd like GN'R to win, but I wouldn't mind The Smiths winning as they don't always get mentioned in the same light as some of Britian's best ever band even thouhg they should.  I'd be upset if the Beastie Boys won, they're fu(king shite.

Joy Division?? Huh What an unusual selection of nominees? Strange indeed.
