Being that we have new vr material but no new gnr stuff yet, its nice to hear all the classic rock stations here in dayton ohio and in cleveland pushing gnr as a leading classic rock band.  We may not be getting our axl fix from new stuff as much as we want, but I love how sweet child o mine and others seem to have flooded the classic rock stations.  Is this the same in every area?

Well, looks like its like that all over the world. Also here in Norway. Im sure i  hear a GNR every day on Norwegian Television channels, or on the radio. A couple of days ago, they played GNR is a record shop her in Oslo. A couple of hours later, when me and som friends sat in a bar, they played alot og GNR songs, not only SCOM, Dont Cry, Knockin, Nov Rain. But mostly songs that isnt that known, like Dead Horse, Dont damn me, Lokomotive etc...

Well the thing is, the current hard rock station has played them on and off, semi frequently for the last ten years... its just that now, gnr is getting mixed in with the stones, zeppelin and others.  its some cool shit

Classic rock stations are where great bands go to die.

That doesn't mean anything...GnR is still not classic rock. My classic rock station plays STP and Nirvana on a regular basis.

well then thats not a classic rock station, by definition... and figure that most of the stuff they play came from appetite, that was 17 years ago, and they were a sound more linked to the seventies than any other 80s rock band, i think that makes it classic rock.  stp is in no way shape or form classic rock, and nirvana, while good, is not classic rock, but the beginning of grunge metal or rock.  they are two very different things... i don't see my classic rock station ever playing nirvana.

and i only started this thread because gnr went from an occasional play to lately being the main soundclip in commercials and in constant rotation several times over.
