I'm a llama!

« on: September 12, 2004, 05:17:47 PM »

I've been checking the rock videos forever,(sitting through some shit music) Cry countdowns, etc... I haven't seen it debut, play or anything on the station... Vh1, fuse, much more music, even on the list for trl germany.. I'm in the states so I'm only talking anout the mtv I see... I know vh1 is the same in ownership with mtv and it's on alot on vh1... I just want to know if there's a reason it never debuted on mtv..?

I was thinking it is because the guys were going to be on a mtv show and launch it personally, but being they're in europe they've been unable to.. Slither got plenty of airtime on mtv, was one in the top ten and peaked at 4 on the list on mtv 2 voted on by the fans...

I hope someone can help me/us know why it never debuted on mtv, and if there's a launch date.?

Thanks.. beer

So it's because the song sucks ? Wow, I diden't think of that before. Hmm, but of course, that has to be the reson, because as we all know, every song that gets played on MTV are really great, strong, kick-ass songs. They never play any crap songs !!  ( sarcasm mode turned off )

I find that mainstream music stations / video stations are directed these days to artistic youth.  Anytime ya hit over 30, forget it.  Game over.  Time to go to Much More Music or VH1.  Nobody wants to see or hear anyone old enough to be someone's father Tongue  Sad but true.  This is how the world of entertainment / music pretty much work.

I'm all for artistic intergrity and whatnot, but it is retarded to make a video for arguably your best shot at a cross over hit that MTV won't play. Just tone the thing down a wee bit so you're not out of the game before it even starts. They had to know the Scott drug scene was a little intense and MTV was not going to like that. Like it or not you NEED to get your videos on there if you ultimately want to blow up.

I had read that, thanks.,..Bunch of horeshit.. Mtv will play Jay-z's 99 problems where he gets shot, something they say that shouldn't be shown, but for artistic reasons they allow it... Fall to pieces isn't graphic at all, you don't see the needle.. I never saw nudity..

Fuck mtv..

It would be a possible plus if ALL stations banned it..

That is really ridicolous that they wont play Fall To Pieces...but yet play 99 problems, or even that new Nelly video "My Place" (which basically is a big whore-fest and Nellys basically naked...).. They always have an MTV news thing before the airing of Jay-z's 99 Problems, if they spend that much time on that, why don't they do an MTV news brief before Fall To Pieces (even though if you ask me, theres nothing wrong with that video).
They might be showing Jay-z's song because of his retirement which I could care-less about. But it's not just his video, they play NUMEROUS other ones that are even worse.. but won't play FTP because of alittle bathroom action? I mean heck, why didnt they go as far as to ban Slither because OMG Duff and Scott had there shirts off!  confused  Huh
MTV is getting really ridicolous...after the whole world saw Janets silicone breast, MTV went OVER-BOARD on the censoring...but it looks to me like they still favor a few artists...and unfortanetly it seems like Velvet Revolver isn't one of themm   Lips Sealed Undecided Angry
