In my opinion, the
original
Metallica lineup consisted of: James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine, and Cliff Burton. Kirk replaced Dave, when he was kicked out of the band, yet against Dave's final requests, they still used his lyrics and riffs on their debut album, Kill 'Em All.
they also used mustaine's stuff on 'Ride the lightning'...damn those albums are good....where did good Metallica go?
?
It died with the passing of Cliff Burton...

It's better to burn out than to fade away...

Why can't anybody accept the fact that Metallica made good music after the death of Cliff Burton, after the Black Album, etc? Is it still the whole "sold-out" argument? Let's see, it was AFTER Cliff died that "One", "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam", "Until It Sleeps", "Hero of the Day", "Fuel", and a whole bunch of other great-but-less-well-known songs came out. Those albums are just as good as everything Metallica made before Cliff died (well, except maybe the rest of
...And Justice For All
). If you can get past your prejudices, there's a whole lot of other great Metallica music out there.

Metallica is still around doing better than ever even though their recent efforts were not as good as good as it was on their previous albums and hopefully their next album will kick ass again. As for Axl and his "GN'R" drop the guns n' roses name and call it something else. Just put the fucking album out and start touring!!!!!!!!
