i rarely post at this board anymore cause there's not much to post about, but hopefully i will be more active soon. depends on gn'r's activity, and speaking of which, today it's been two years since they surprisingly appeared on the mtv vmas, which was a great performance and got me hella exited about the band finally taking on the world again, but two years later, what do we got? one press release about a member leaving. nothing more. now, i rarely criticize gn'r cause i really believe in axl, but this is getting ridicilous. i've been a big gn'r fan for about 14 years now, and a good five of them has just been hanging around message boards waiting for news and discussing rumours. hopefully soon we'll have something real to talk about, and the best record since use your illusion to show for our patience and waiting. i'm getting sick of not being able to prove my gn'r hating friends wrong. just my two cents... doubt anything will happen tonight though.

Yeah, pretty depressing anniversary. And how many months ago was the Axl statement that we'd be hearing something about the record "in the next few months"? For us GNR fans this has become a way of life. When something happens I'm afraid none of us will know quite how to handle it.

Well whatever the case may be I hope that Axl's gotten rid of the braids. He's been changing his image often lately and quite frankly he looked ridiculous with the braids and the laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge shirts and pants...

But it's been
14 years of silence
It's been
14 years of pain
It's been
14 years that are gone forever
And I'll never have again

Bullshit and contemplation
Gossip's their trade
If they knew half the real truth
What would they say
Well I'm past the point of concern
It's time to play
These last 4 years of madness
Sure put me straight
Don't get back 14 years
In just one day
So hard to keep my own head
Just go away
You know...just like a hooker she said
Nothin's for free
Oh I tried to see it your way
I tried to see it your way

Axl had his chance.? He had the chance to make his comeback and he screwed it up.? As far as I'm concerned, he's never going to release Chinese Democracy because he's a hopeless old fuck.? The Axl Rose that exists today isn't the same Axl Rose I idolize...the screaming young leather-clad rocker.? It isn't even the braids and the sports jerseys...they're not important.? It's the spirit and the attitude, and the only thing Axl still has from those days is the most deplorable aspect of those days...his seeming inability to get to a show on time.

I'm still eager to see if ol' Axl will surprise me.? But for me, Guns N' Roses are in the past when it comes to making music.? It's up to us fans to keep the spirit of the original Guns N' Roses alive.? Maybe it'll inspire this 42-year-old millionaire to do something with his life.

Wow - ur confident Undecided

Chinese Democracy will eventually be released and when it is it will be GNR's best effort - the new songs are proof that Axl has the potential to make even better music.

Unless the original five guys reunite, Appetite For Destruction will always the best effort of Guns N' Roses, the real band.

HOWEVER, a good song is a good song, and so Chinese Democracy, if it has enough of them, has as much potential as anything else to be even better.  But I'll always think of the band as "The New GN'R".  To me, Guns N' Roses will always consist of Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, and Steven Adler (Matt Sorum is acceptable, but I always preferred Steven).  So will the new GN'R improve upon the old?  We shall see.
