while none of us know of any specific deadline, contracts have them, and Axl is signed to a contract, no matter what anyone says. they don't off a contract that says "release an album whenever you want, and take all the time you need, even 5 years." They just don't say that. There is a deadline, someone just needs to confirm it.

Well, to set the record straight, I saw some of you didn't know where I took that from, so anyway... the thing I posted about what some 'sources' said... read the darknemus posts.. About what Axl said in regards of Chinese Democracy comin' out "sometime during the nextyear"( that would be 2003), he did saythat in a few radio interviews during the 2002 tour.

This is insane...............

Are people really going by Axl's little press release from the departure of Buckethead? I love how Axl saying We should hear a release date in a 'few' months, somehow translated into Wednesday June 30th at exactly 3:30 PST.
I bet there are atleast a few people here who thought that today was somekind of Guns N' Roses information day, and got their panties all wet when they heard about Howard Sterns little press conference today. I'm sure at least a few of you thought Axl would be giving the anouncement there.

how does few=3 ........ did I miss that day in class........ is 'few' somehow akin to the number pi?

How can  someone use the word few to hold Axl to a specific date?
Lets look at the dog years to people years to Axl years chart:

1 human year ~ 7 dog years (based on breed (also averaged the first year is closer to 15 years in a dog))
1 Axl year seems to equal 4 human years (but the number is always growing)

i agree totally c0ma, it scares me how people try to predict axl, he said a few months, shit that doesnt necessarily mean 3

how often has someone said "hey come take the trash out" and u say ill do it in a few minutes

do u go and take that trash out exactly 3 minutes later? fuck no! sometimes i havent till the next day

everyone chill with this shit!

If that Geffen contract is with the partnership and Axl is not a party to the patnership anymore, then Axl can't release a record under that contract. Axl could be "contractless" at this point! Dumbass Geffen may have given a man 13 million to make a record when that man had no authority to make a record under the old contract.
Geffen could indirectly be very involved in this lawsuit...or at least have a vested interest in it. I understand the lawsuit completely and deal with lawsuits and attorneys on a daily basis. Mark my words, Geffen is very interested in what happens to the "partnership"!
Yeah, I?ve been wondering why the hell he could have written such a letter which popped up 9yrs later, just after he reunited with these very "accusers" for once against Geffen.  Cheesy

Thus, Geffen is hesitant to release said record until the issue of the "partnership" is settled.

The words Axl used in the press release were,

"Regardless we "hope" to announce a release date within the next few months."

obviously with huge emphasis on hope.

Also, just to get technical, I've always took few to mean anywhere from 3-6 with 7-11 being several then 12 being a dozen. peace

Maybe by september/october we may hear something. But I'm not holding my breath. Anyway CD release will probably only be like 2 weeks to a month away when he does announce it. And then that would put the release near November. which would correspond to the Melodicrock "guess". of course it's all a guess on my part as well. Who the fuck knows with Axl??? I don't even think he does. Undecided

Here is the thread i created a while back on the partnership issue:

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=12839

Take a look in it there is lots of interesting stuff about how messy partnerships can get once they are dissolved!

If Axl has the rights to the Guns n Roses name so be it. It doesnt mean he has the rights to everything they recorded!

I still believe this is what is holding the album up, Madagas has a point to what he is saying!

Ill say this again about the partnership.
The issues that Axl is being sued for his not for the Gnr name but for the rights to the songs by Gnr.

Axl owns the name and can do what he wishs, so slash and duff cant stop him from putting CD out under that name, but slash and duff claim Axl does not have the rights to the old gnr songs from AFD, lies and the UYIs.

Dave, think about this:

Axl obtained the rights to the GNR name by agreeing to leave the partnership. If the paperwork confirms that this is the exact deal that they made then if Axl has not left the partnership, surely his use of the GNR name is in jeopardy?

What I mean is, if Slash and Duff win the lawsuit and show that Axl has been acting against that agreement (i.e. making decisions on behalf of the partnership), then isn't that whole agreement in question?

As for this date, I thought it meant something to do with CD being handed over, not news. My memory is bad tho.

What the hell is this "source" you're talking about.  I've never heard this malarky other than in this post.
Well you have 12 posts, no idea of what is going on so chill out.... and it isn't malarky.

And you judge this on post count?  Perhaps you should look past the obvious and consider I've probably been on this board for about 4 years now and I definitely have more of an idea of what's going on than you do.  People misinterpret these rumors and then make these little asinine assumptions such as axl's fed up with being a celebrity or etc.  You've just forced me to waste another post, thank you.
