I Won't Be Told Anymore

« on: June 04, 2004, 12:26:17 PM »

It's none of my business what people like or dislike - nor do i care.  But all these negative posts are popping up everywhere on this site and it's weird to hear people making their minds up even before they actually own the album!? Where's the musical enjoyment in that?

I have not wanted to hear samples until i actually own the album for myself and eventually see them live for myself. Then i will feel i can give an honest opinion.

The average PC is not the best quality format to listen to music anyway.  Your car stereo or the stereo in your house are the places to get a decent hearing.

I'm not blind to that fact i may end up thinking it's alright nothing overtly special.  But on paper it has all the right ingredients for the music i like and i want to listen to it in full , get a few beers in, stick it on loud and then see what i think.  It's so much more enjoyable that way.

Even if they make little mistakes at least they are doing it infront of us.  For years here, people have been begging to know more of what is going on in GNR, but when we finally get that from a section of the old GNR. People point out every little imperfection.  You can't have it all.

Look how long it has taken for people to get into certain GNR songs - the old and new era stuff.  Music is a very personal and mystical thing.  Certain songs can grate you for  ages, then something happens and it suddenly makes sense to you.  Or the opposite, you love certain songs but then you get a little bored of them.

Just don't be so quick to put the downers on, in a week's time you could have a totally different opinion.

Roll on Monday!

I'm ignoring all the bad atitudes towards this album. Seems like it swung from very positive to poor within a few days. I'm not buying it. I am going to make a decision for myself and pick up a copy when it's out.
