Anyway, Estranged is currently my favorite all time song, due to, as others have mentioned, all the parts that I can relate too. However even without the lyrics, the guitar work by Slash would have definitely got my interest in that song. I swear that before the day I die, I will learn to play that song.

He was.  Axl did say he had a hard time getting Slash to play on "Estranged", because Slash has said that he likes to play shorter, faster songs, and got bored playing the epic ballads.  I think "Estranged" just looked like another tepid ballad on paper, but when it was recorded, I'm sure Slash was glad he consented to it.  Just watch the "Making of Estranged" video and it's obvious how proud he is of the song and the band's effort on it.

But when Axl ranted about the arguments with Slash and Duff, he was referring to "Patience".  It's funny, because "Patience" wasn't even Axl's song, it was written and brought to the band by Izzy.
