Post by: GNR4Life on October 08, 2003, 08:32:10 PM
im just curious do we all like this axl that is unpredictable and volatile at times or would we want him to do what i guess i would call the normal stuff for doing an album promoting it and putting it out or if he did start doing what other people wanted i.e. management, interscope or whomever would we still have the same kind of attraction that we all do to the persona of axl rose.

Easy: Axl=unpredictable. There is no other.

People seem to think Axl's unpredictable behavior is somehow endearing. Not me.

Stiffing shows, cancelling tours, taking absurd amounts of time to record this supposed album, refusing to communicate with the people he expects to buy his album... not cool.

To me, that isn't "Axl being Axl," but Axl being a prima dona like a hundred prima donas before him. I happen to think it's within Axl's power to be creative and original without being a dickhead.

As far as I know, Axl was pretty reliable before GNR got big in '88. He showed up for scheduled shows, wrote songs and got them recorded, worked as an equal with the rest of the band. The result was Appetite and many of their best live performances ever, including a much more entertaining stage presence on Axl's part. If all of that is being predictable, I'll take it.

axl being unpredictable is half his fame!!!!

see my former "us gnr fans have the abused wife syndrome"

if axl were a nice like every other rock star guy he wouldnt be as interesting and we all wouldnt be on this board

we wouldnt give a shit we wouldnt still be waiting after all this time

the wait makes things better, it has caused ultimate excitement since he is so unpredictable, so when axl decides to come out u  know its gonna be cause he has something great and that will be our reward

"To me, that isn't "Axl being Axl," but Axl being a prima dona like a hundred prima donas before him. I happen to think it's within Axl's power to be creative and original without being a dickhead."

...Not to mention the fact that blowing off your new band (twice in only one month of touring) is not a good thing to do from a business point of view... if he would only choose to look at the big picture as opposed to just thinking about himself  ::)
...I know it's a little late for for the boys(they probably already have their signatures on some sort of legal document that binds them somehow) but if I was Finck or Buckethead, I would feel very, very sad about having to tour with Axl...you know what they say, hindsight is 20\20--LOL  ;D
I think if he can't fulfill the job description of a rock arena entertainer than he just ought to stick to doing his exhibition concerts in Vegas--
Wow, GNR--the new "vegas act" opening for them, Wayne Newton--LOL :-X

( blowing of the band twice in one month) NOT! How do you know that! The band isn't blaming him for it, at usual the only one blaming him are people like you and the media. And I am saying that after I had tickets, airfare, and hotel to one of the shows that got cancelled. I don't blame Axl. And you don't know what happened. Don't assume anything, Sorry if I sound a little upset, I get sick everyone blaming Axl for everything!

everything he does is unpredictable. just look at the 2002 Tour? went fuckin great in Asia and Europe, then we had a very outta the blue Axl in the VMA's, then we had a no show as a tour opener for the US. with a riot ( that brings back memories anyway) then we have great shows and after the most amazing show in MSG there's no tour... and eventually no cd to promote. if that's predictable then ... i dunno.
Anyways, Axl is Axl and we love him for being who he is... the last american hero and true rockstar

unpredictable is nice when you wait at shows, he rants n raves, things like that, not waiting forever for an album/s
