Title: What does the future hold for GNR?
Post by: Ignatius on October 03, 2003, 06:08:13 PM

Ok, this is not an informative nor a brand new rumor thread. I'm not gonna talk about Axl's teeth either, nor My fustration cause the cd is not coming out anytime soon...this is just supposed to be fun.

If you owned a time machine and were given the chance to travel time...would you rather go back in time to the glorious days when GNR was a major force or would you rather travel 5 years from now to see what the future holds for GNR?

If you pick the second option...what does the future hold for GNR?

Be creative...

I'd pick the second option ( although I'd have paid to have gone to those early shows...)

but I'd say, GNR will release Chines Democracy in the fall of 04.

Guns will be honored with a grammy for best album and best rock album as well as MTV's best video

Axl Rose will be named " man of the year" by people magazine in 2005.

Buckethead will break his arm during their last tour. Slash will be his replacement and both Axl and Slash will appear together at the Conan O'brian show on their last gig in NY.

Axl will go to the oprah show to describe his relationship with Stephany Seymour. Backstage, Stephany will cry a river and ask Axl to marry her in front of 50 million people across america

Guns will sale 50 million copies worldwide. China, will no longer be a comunist country to really become a democracy.

Axl will retire from music to become a politician. He'll join the terminator's party and both will rule California for a decade. Their slogan " get in the ring motherfucker" . Obviously.

Axl will then retire and write his memories.....

That's enough, beer got me...

Cheers : ok:

If Axl decides to reunite with Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Steven then they'll be the biggest band in the world again and their future will be very bright!!!!!!!

I think that this is gonna happen......

Axl releases Chinese Democracy
It goes platinum within a week
Dave Navarro takes over Buckethead's place*dont see why he has not already, JA broke up a couple of weeks ago*
With the new success of the album a massive Stadium Tour ensues
Goes Triple Platinum within 3 weeks
With massive tour of the world finished starts work on a new album, released within two years.
Communism gets overthrown in China in N.Korea
After another album retires and becomes the new Governor of California, *that would FUCKING rule*

I don't think you could change anything by going back in time to talk to the band.. I'd take the old guys together in a second..

I would love to just be able to see what axl did each day while this album was being made..

I'd love to just see where the finished product is.. Is it under his pillow, under a rock on a mountain, bottom of the ocean with the dolphins???

I`d go into the future since I already know what happened in the past.

My Prediction:
*After more delays, CD is released in the summer of 2005.
*A massive tour ensues, momentum builds.
*Buckethead rejoins the band for the tour, but quits again after the tour is over.
*The critics love the album and is considered the best rock album in 10 years.
*However, it takes 6 weeks to go platnum due to the MTV generation not knowing what good music really is anymore.
* 2 years later, we actually get a follow up album
* Another world tour, Fortus takes over lead guitar duties.
* This new album goes platnum in 1 week
* VR release a new album. It sounds like Contraband. Goes gold in 6 weeks.
*2 years later GNR~s 3rd album is released. PLatnum in 1 week
* Farewell Tour anounced
*2 years later, Axl takes 3 years off.
* SLash calls Axl since VR is history and they patch up their differences.
* 2 years later, the original band reunites for 1 album and 1 tour
* 3 years later, they all call it quits. Axl writes his memoirs.
*2016- Axl runs for govenor of CA at age 54.

Wishful thinking? Anyway a future without VR looks very bleak...

If VR don`t evolve their sound and end up making the same album over and over, They won`t have a real long career.

I'd like to relive my experience in '87 seeing them open for my beloved Cult.  That was indeed a special night I'd like to refresh 17 years later with the knowledge and perspective I have now.

That would be very eerie...? :nervous:

Would you yell out to Duff that his pancreas is gonna explode in a few years?

Would you tell Steven that the Cult drummer he opened for will replace him?

Would you attend the concert sporting a trendy kfc bucket on your head?

or just talk to your beloved Ian?

The voice of optimism speaks once again  :hihi:

Try tampons i hear they stop the bleeding a little better than pads

The future better be with the new guys cus if slash makes it to 50 it'll be because he's doing the Keith Richards replacing of the blood thing and signed a deal with the devil.

I luv the guy but i get unheathier just looking at him.

VR isn't bad but it's got to be like a zillion to one that both slash and weiland will be around for the next 10 years.

The futures so bright for gnr i got to wear shades   8)

The future IMO will be the next 5 years and then axl will disappear again.  I just hope for two albums and two massive tours.

Goes Triple Platinum within 3 weeks

I don't think that is even possible. Usher sold over a million in his first week, but selling over a million a week for 3 weeks?

I would rather go back in time to that show they did on the UYI tour which was almost three hours long out in CA. 3 hours of Slash , Axl, Gilby what could be better? I would also warn Axl that Sorum has an attitude problem.

You must remember, G N' R has millions of fans all over the world, it could happen if it has a lot of advertising around the world. Usher's main buyers are in America and Britian, not really popular everywhere else.

Great stuff!

Although the Cult drummer was Les Warner at the time, I'd tell Popcorn his days were numbered, probably switch to denim from leather as attire, woudn't speak to Duff, no wasting time on bass players,
then hang with Billy Duffy sans Ian.  Although I love Astbury, he's was just as much a pill then as he is now..
