Have seen some weird shit on these polls - like Shadow of your love over SCOM (Just defies reasonable logic) but for Don't Cry to place so high on ONE and about to be bounced so early on TWO by the same people voting is a little hard to stomach

I'll agree about "Sweet Child o Mine" -- can't believe that got voted off so fast.

However, I disagree about "Don't Cry".  To me, the lyrics of the Alternate version are far inferior, making it a much different song.  I love the original "Don't Cry", and detest the alternate version.  Hence my vote, and many other voters by the looks of it.

The alternate lyrics are very awkward and it doesn't really deserve consideration on musical merits because it's no different musically. Frankly, I think it would be unfair to the other songs to rate it higher because of instrumentation it inherited. Just like Live and Let Die went out early because it's a cover. KOHD will do better because it's sufficiently original in arrangement.

Fair enough
I'm more of a melody/instrumentation driven listener than lyrics and it's the SAME song so that's where I have brain freeze trying to understand
I can get it if it went out quicker but to come behind some of the filler on this album that is still alive is what seems odd
Oh well - like you said - others feel the same so I'll accept I'm just missing the big picture

There are no fillers in this album - well, maybe number 14, but that's more an outro IMO.

There are so many deep cuts on uyi1&2 i dont think its weird that Dont cry is voted out by the core fans. I actually think thats tve case with scom also. That song is so much played and many of the hardcore gnr fans dont hold it as one of the jewls. Soyl is a really cool rock song.. not among the best, but since it got released as a single only a few years ago its still fresh!

Yeah - Idk...it sounds like what it is - a fun little turd that they smartly decided not to put on a real album when they had the chance so many years ago.
Now they bless us with this because there's nothing new they choose to release and it beats out SCOM even though it was not on Appetite

I think the fantastic production on it that IMO beats the final AFD album helps it a lot. To hear the band in 1986 with the quality of 2017 like they're right there in front of you was indescribably cool to me when I first heard it.

I'm glad and surprised to see the amount of love Breakdown has been getting. It has always been a top 3 on UYI II for me.

The lyrics and melodies are so catchy, especially "Now the damage done and we're back out the run" portion. It's such a telling tale for this band and what would come to be.

This round has been the hardest so far, picking a winner from here is going to be insane  :nervous:

I think Civil War should have probably beat YCBM because it has the diversity of soft parts, which only enhance the impact of the hard parts. And of course the beautiful wah work by Slash. But of course, it's a very tough call. Breakdown is highly underrated, but I still wouldn't put it in the league of the other tracks that were left.

Amazing 14 Years does so well. I find almost all of the Izzy tracks boring as hell.
