It's always a thrill for me whenever Guns starts (or restart) a tour.

This is a historical venue for GN'R and the concert should be great! Waiting for some videos and pics.

Greetings from here, just arrived and found the hotel.

Obviously, a very big city but already one t-shirt seen. A young girl, who must've been in kindergarten when CD was released, with her boyfriend and another guy. Also a small number of very small ads here and there.

It doesn't mean that a very large crowd wouldn't be interested in this :peace: :beer:

So they just played “Slither” at soundcheck... would be a cool addition to the setlist if they decide to play it tomorrow. :)

Around 24 hours to go, cannot wait!!

Generally, I like walking but got a little bored with it after all and there was a bicycle taxi. A man little younger than Axl but probably not much.

We got talking and you just can't fake that face.

Wow, even more amazing that Axl is singing it. I figured it would go to Duff even though, no offense, but I don't think he could pull it off. I always figured Axl resented VR because Slash was having such success with them when he was mostly off the radar at the time. To me, the thought of Axl singing a VR tune is almost harder to imagine than reuniting with Slash in the first place! But then, lots of old wounds have healed. What's next, Fall To Pieces, Take It Away and Crucify The Dead?! :hihi:

Anyway, this will be really cool!

Haha, I know but to tell the truth I wouldn't have recognised him on the street of dreams.

I'm something like 5 or 6 kilometers from the stadium and the weather seems to be clearing up a little. Hard to say but at least it's warm enough in any case :beer:

I  always thought that Slither would have been a great Guns song. I remember reading that Axl said that Slash bought a song to him once that later turned into Fall to Pieces.

Is Slither the one where Duff yells HEY! throughout the song for no apparent reason?  (If Axl does decide to sing this song, I hope somebody warns him about that.)

I understand how discussing the (potential) setlist is part of the enjoyment of the fan experience.  I personally don't care what Axl does or doesn't decide to sing along to at any given show.  Whatever makes him happy to do is fine with me.  That being said, the GNR instagram posted a clip from soundcheck without sound. (I'm pretty sure it just wasn't a glitch in my computer)  I'm guessing that something will get played during this tour that I am not familiar with (the possibilities are endless considering my limited knowledge of songs.)  I'm depending on any one and/or all of you to fill in & post the setlist & stuff.  Thanks in advance!

Delighted for Slash and Duff to finally have Slither in the setlist, wasn’t sure I’d ever see Axl singing any VR songs.

Axl appeared to be a little lost with the lyrics at times but for a first performance not bad at all. Slash’s solo sounded awesome as always.

Some of the comments are just ridiculous and stupid!

I like the way Axls singing Slither, think he messed the words up a little but still great. I wonder if they'll swap it around with SOYL. I think Slither is a great addition to the set. I like Witchita Lineman but would prefer another Guns song

I really get what he's trying to do with Slither, but it'll need a bit more working out. Bu I am happy they added it o the set and I'm sure it'll be a lot better over the course of the tour.

I liked that too. Except for the after solo part, he went down when he should go up if you will...all in all it is a great and unimagible think that Axl allowed a VR song to be in the set. Props to that! I was hoping for SOYL but maybe later in the tour...they are heating up the engines!

This show seems to be getting some hugely negative reactions from certain areas.....

What's the view from those that were actually there? Not really interested in taking my opinion from poor quality youtube videos....

I don't know, maybe a little disappointed that nothing spectacular happened.

But that aside everyone surely had a blast. Then having said that it looked like many empty seats.

That is great that they finally played Sliver, nice addition.

I don't think it sounded as bad as some have made it out to be from the clips Ive seen. Perhaps it wasn't perfect but cut them some slack,  it was the 1st time it was played in front of an audience with the current incarnation.

Just came back from the show.
It was an odd one. They skipped You Could Be Mine (when was the last time they didnt play that?), Coma, no Seeker, Black Hole Sun, no My Michelle or OTGM.
 Axl was having monitor problems i think. I could see him do long rants to the monitor guys between songs. This was around Rocket Queen.

Aftern November Rain he said that to his monitors it sounds like he is singing underwater like he would be  in finding nemo.

Nonetheless the show kicked ass. Only a superfan would notice the band was a little rusty. Slash didnt nail the rocket queen solo. The part in Better before the solo was not.perfect but they got through it well. Axl had issues in This I Love and some other songs.
Slither was a dream to witness being a big vr fan and never.had the chance of seeing them.
Before Slither Axl said that theyre gonna try something new even though he sucks tonight (i missed the rest of the speech cause of the cheering near me)

Also Axl said at one point that its good to be back in Berlin and the reason why they only have done a couple german shows lately is that the band has been cockbloked by some promoter for years and they have tried to come here for a long time.

I heard Slither, Wichita Lineman (ilove that song) and Used To Love Her for the first time tonight live. and i had great view from pit1 so no complaints. I just wanna share my thoughts on the show.
After Slither the band was on fire and it was business as usual. Allthough the encore was minimal. Only patience and paradise.

I was a great gig. And im happy tp see them in Tallinn again and hope to see them play Prostitute, Madagascar, TWAT along others.
Today was not the day for those songs. Great show nonetheless

There was some empty seats  in the back. But it was still quite full.
Before heavens door i think Axl said that the crowd is filling up as the show progresses and that maybe the crowd were.thinkin that he is gonna be late.

The show started super early. 19.15 and ended at 21.40. So it was one of the shortest showd in quite some time.

With 70k capacity id say there was 50-60k people there. So alot of people for sure.

The funny thing is, I think if Duff did the backup vocals in a more Axl-friendly key, it would have made a difference.  Or maybe he should have just let Melissa handle the backup vocals.  How do you think that would have gone over?  Hey Duff, could you keep quiet when we do Slither, you're messing up the song for the rest of us.  :hihi:
 

I see massive potential w Slither once Axl works all the bugs out  love how he takes it up octaves on the chorus, think once he settles into his it's so easy brownstone CD register on the verses it will really kick ass

Yeah, what was with the starting time, did we know that. I had just queued a beer then suddenly it was so easy.

Yeah Some upperbowl sections were empty at the start of the show but filled up nicely as the show progressed. Awesome show!

So happy with the show! We ended up in Golden circle! I thougt I bought worse tickets so nice surprise. Greeta van Fleet are Magic! Dancing through their set! And Guns killed! Love Love Love! On to Tallin and Gothenburg! :peace:

While I do think he could sing this in his Brownstone voice I’d love to hear it being sung with the old Axl rasp but nonetheless I love that he’s putting his own spin to it and I like what he’s doing on the chorus with Duff. Great addition to the setlist.

Hard to find decent audio but this one is a little better. I like what Axl is doing with it. Never a big VR fan but slither was the most GnR song I heard from them. Solo rips : ok:

I want to say he had that at Sturgis but maybe not.  Cool as fuck when they revved the piano up before Axl played.

I don't think Axl wants anything to do with that.  If Slash is going to take a seat on the stage, Axl's going to be behind it.  :D  All the women in the audience are going to be on their tiptoes making sure there have been no more wardrobe malfunctions, just checking.   8)

Well on the last leg Madagascar, Prostitute were regulars.
Also Dont Cry was played at almost every show with Patience on the last legs.

Slither didn't sound great, but christ... I'd rather hear it than not. It took Axl a few shows to start sounding better on "Black Hole Sun." Once he got in the groove on that one it started sounding better.

Hope they don't just abandon Slither because of a few crybabies or spotty vocals. Work out the kinks and try it again. It was interesting to hear

What did they say in reviews about attendance?

Vocals were not strong, possibly because of sound issues. He should've sung it with his ACDC vocals.

Can't say I'm especially happy about the way this show has been received. Hoping it's a blip, like RIR was. 

First shows are usually dodgy with this band.  Even going way back.

The only cut that surprised me was 'You Could Be Mine'.

And 'Wichita Lineman'... I don't know, man.  It feels like that is some inside joke we are all on the outside of.  Crowd DIED when they did it at my show.

What comes to Slither.

Was it the most amazing vocal performance by Axl ever?
No.

Was it still pretty good?
Absolutely.

What matters more to me its that they gave Scott Weiland some tribute and showcased Duffs and Slashs non gnr career, and its a great goddamn song.

It has happened before. Remember In Rock In Rio 1991. Axl struggled on Dead Horse and YCBM. That didint mean that he woulndt nail it 99% of the time in the future.

The band were pretty kickass on it.

And remember, Before Slither Axl said that he sucks tonight.

Come on guys. This was not standard rust from time off. Axl was seriously struggling out there, even with things that have been firmly into his comfort zone in the past 7 years.  Listen to last night's Nightrain, the guy is struggling through a whole different kind of issue. It is rough.

Kudos to him for finishing the set, and for trying Slither, but he doesn’t seem to be in condition to keep performing. He should take a break and take care of himself. It’s his health, his instrument and his future as a performer on the line hete.

He looked healthy, but i saw him doing long rants to the crew during and between songs. Moost probably monitor issues that didnt get fixed.
After November Rain he said to the audience that to his monitors it sounds like he is singing underwater.

Dizzy even started playing the intro to Black Hole Sun, before stopping and Heavens Door was next.

Before Attitude the band was ready to play something else, (duff had his black bass he uses in Better ready, before Axl said something to the band and they all got new guitars to play Attitude)

It def improved by 2nd verse. I think the big issue I heard, Duff was singing it like the record. Axl was putting his own spin and for my ears it clashed a bit key wise

Jarmo definitely has a much better sense and taste for the takes and the angles, and his post-production edition is way more ''natural'' and ''real'' than Katarina's, and that's of course my humble and insignficant opinión. Kat's pics are too much artificial in my opinion. When you can notice the digital edition, when the digital edition is the first thing you notice, something's wrong.

Trujillo is the best i've seen, and with the difficulty of taking his pics from the crowd.
