It's weird that one- pretty much confirms it, doesn't even mention it being a rumour. To my knowledge that's the first/only mention anywhere of a venue and date for a concert.

If it is true (and I'm very much not convinced) it would have to be announced officially soon.

What are peoples thoughts about the nitl tour entering its third year? I'm excited about seeing them again, but also wondering whether the momentum will still be there come next summer....

I am not happy without new music. I'm in a vicinity to go to many of those but guess we'll have to wait and see.

At least finally Tallinn. It is just an amazing place that Song Festival Grounds. Yeah, I'll be there no matter what

Also, there could be a little clash with something known as the 2018 FIFA World Cup, colloquially known just as the World Cup. Yes, soccer, and the USA crashed out of the World Cup having attended since 1990. Mentioning that because quite a few members seem to be from that country and not caring about that whatever it is.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Europe multiple dates might be not cool for many fans of the beautiful game. Everyone knows about this, so does the management, and they are taking their chances.

Even if you are not going to Russia (where they play the actual matches) very many fans will choose to stay in a pub in their home town watching the game instead of a show that we have seen so many times.

If a show is on another day, why not, but next summer many countries in Europe will rather watch their heroes and that is not Slash. Or Melissa.

Or the band could use it to their advantage. Show the games on the big screens before the concert starts. The latest games this World Cup will start at 1900 CET due to Russia being some hours ahead of Europe.

I don't know. Surely they're pushing this to it's limits now? I'd say more stadiums is risky- they didn't all sell out on the last run, with all the hype and excitement. There's going to be less of that, not to mention the fact a lot of casuals have 'ticked the box' now.

I was thinking about that but it is two different worlds really. Would it work as expected? Simply switching from something else to something else. Surely, there are a lot of people in the same target group and it could actually be great fun.

But what about if your country loses an important match and then some guy comes on stage singing all you need is just a little patience...

I thought a few struggled? I know Paris did, as they ended up running special offers which I found odd. Maybe the prices were too high though.

Do you think stadiums again are ambitious?

Surely some did struggle. They were not all sold out. They just were not.

Nightrain sales seem to start on Monday already. But for once I'm not worried about getting tickets and they will be easily available to many places. Funnily, I got just paid today and could buy all the tickets in the world. There is no rush though, let's see where and when.

Shows?
Studio??
Other projects???
Nothing????

I was there with Metallica back in 2006

The problem was not the tickets, not at all. It is a huge place and will not sell out. Accommodation was a little problem though but the city has developed hugely, I have visited since.

Still, that many motherfuckers in a city of half a million, I'll reserve some dodgy hotel room first and worry about getting into the grounds later.

All the hotel booking sites have pretty much the same availability. Currently on one it stands at 30% around the gig day. That is normal and who knows, probably even a fake figure.

Yeah, good luck with those ferries :hihi:

If you have a rock n' roll train it is quite possible to keep adding cars and quite a lot of them. But with ferries it is harder, there just won't be enough ships sailing.

I will be looking at my flights throughout the winter, something will come up. And they have a great bus network here in the Central Europe. Whatever it takes we will be there.

I'm just going by Billboard Boxscore.

Lowest attendance was Bilbao with 27,900. The rest of the shows were in the 42,000 ? 79,000 range.

Struggle... I guess the word has taken a new meaning in that case.

For sure...new music from this lineup would be awesome, but if this is still being billed as the NITL tour, and they're hitting up places they haven't been to yet, I don't think they're going to deviate from the norm...but I would love to be wrong.

Question now is, will they be taking a (deserved) six month break, or will they play before Europe.

My hope now is they'll finally do an interview where they talk about their plan with GNR for the future. Axl has mentioned new music, dare we hope as early as next year?

Yeah, agreed.
I Also went for the 35e option. The lines to pick up the ticket at the venue must be crazy (i think people missed the start of the gig in Bangkok because of that)

For Tallinn the was the much more sensible e-ticket option for 1e extra.

There was a "print at home" option when I purchased my ticket for Prague last summer...

They'll probably charge me another ?34.90 when I buy the Barcelona ticket.  :)

There was for Prague but for Italy I paid that 35 euros to some innocent delivery guy only doing their job. That is just stupid and laughable, how do they get away with that.

Back in France, around with DJ Ashba I went to a collection point without any queues despite the gig selling well and not being too early either.

It is just impossible to know what will happen and I prefer e-tickets. Surely, printing them destroy the nature but so do drugs and rock n' roll.

My 35 euros ticket looks nice on the fridge door though.

Frankly, I think they're nuts to keep touring through 2018. Axl's voice has been cracking/splitting on the high notes lately and I'd hate to see him do real damage. If he ruins his voice for any possible future album, would an extra leg of touring have been worth it?

And they offer a print-at-home option which saves a few Euros.  :)

There's a six month break between the last show in 2017 and the first in 2018. That's plenty of time to recuperate.

Yes, ruin his voice. No, is that a joke? The vocal chords wear out with excessive use and abuse. They do not imply get stronger like a muscle, as some apparently seem to think...

I'm sure you know better how he should take care of his voice. He's only been singing professionally for 30 years and worked with accomplished vocal coaches like Ron Anderson.

I was in another business yesterday in southern Poland and decided to make a little detour to check the venue in Chorz?w.

Oh boy and what did I witness. A park is only a park but when it is a very very big park and when it is a well-kept park. And then they have a modern stadium there bang just in there. It will just be so full of rockers hours before the guns go off.

The logistics might be a problem but surely they must have a plan for that. The train station is some mile away and it is only a little village one. Not much help from there. There are also not many pubs around.

And then the other problem. Public drinking is very illegal and fiercely enforced everywhere in Poland. Maybe they make an exception to that, I have no idea.

Some might say can't you be sober for a few hours. Well, the songs were written when in drugs and drunk so I just want to listen to them when drunk

In any case, be there on July 09, I know I will :peace:

I'm in Poland watching Polsat News, just their main news channel. I speak the language a little but not much, just trying to listen and understand.

Today was a big nationwide charity day for poor children and Guns N' Roses was mentioned. No, not possible to mishear that.

What on earth might be happening. They were showing some general pictures so it could be just that by the way this rock n' roll band will be performing here in July.

But I don't see the connection in any case. Surely there is a date 9th of July.

Anyone think a UK arena tour might come at the end of this tour? They did that when they played Download in 2006.
The fact Download hasn?t announced them as an ?exclusive? makes me wonder. Also it would sell amazingly.

Thanks for the auction link, it is just over USD13,000 now and that gives a purchasing power of about $50,000 in Poland compared to richer EU countries. So this is a big donation already.

As for anyone's guess. My guess is that nobody knows as of today. Most likely or at least maybe there are some negotiations going on. People in suits will meet, lawyers will be there.

Then they will tell the world what they have decided. Nobody asks the band and they couldn't care less either. There will be some gigs or no gigs.

Possibly not- depending on how long they let GNR play for, and what time curfew is. If, as it may well be, it's 10.30, and they're given a decent amount of time to play, stage turnaround would probably have to begin at, say 6-ish? If music starts at midday, that doesn't that much time for too many other bands on the main stage, when you factor in their performance times and turnarounds too.

Pure speculation, but I'd suggest maybe 2 other acts on the main stage, before Thunder?

That depends on a few things. How many minutes do the other bands play, when do they start and if/when there's a curfew.

Let's say there's a midnight curfew. GN'R could start after 8PM and have plenty of time...

When GN'R last played European festivals in 2012, they did full sets and there were about the same number of acts sharing the stage with them.

Very true. Here in the UK though we do have early curfews-epsecially for outdoor things. 11 would be the absolute latest they would get without breaking curfew i'd think. Sadly though, I won't be there to see the whow this time as I have a wedding. I'm sure my absence will be sorely felt! Haha!

Festivals can be good, or not so good. Depending on how you see it.

You really do get the chance to see a lot of acts during the one day (if you only go for one day to catch one headliner) or during the whole festival.

But yeah, sometimes they limit the times of the acts. Especially those who aren't headlining.

Step by step I'm decorating my new home and AfD vinyl is missing. I went to a very big shopping mall that has everything. All around the world they have the same shops, maybe sometimes under a different brand.

No vinyls but then I thought let's see the compact disc section. What I found was Lies, it will easily blend in :peace:

I was just thinking this could be the first time I have ever paid for Lies. But now it's done motherfuckers, I even have the receipt to prove it :smoking:

I feel the same. For me it's more the crowds though- i've had some crap experiences watching bands surrounded by peolle who arwn't interested but just want a couple of hits to sing along to while they drink and talk. Musi festivals have changed a lot though- they used to be really full of dedicated music fabs, now they're often social events fpr the sort of people that never buy music.
Having said that- i have enjoyed some and know they have theor place-especially when it comes to helping bands make money.
Give me a bands own gig anyday though.

Yeah, the crowds are definitely different.

But to be honest, when you do any big shows, you'll always have a certain element of the crowd who are mainly there for the big hits. This is true for any act.

AfD is so ubiquitous in the UK that I'm confident I could walk into even the smallest branch of HMV and find 5 vinyl copies minimum. In fact, no kidding, the supermarket Morrison's here had a little stand of vinyl around last Christmas and....you guessed it, about 10 copies of Appetite. Little 'classic albums' set-up with Sgt. Last time we got bored here waiting we talked about pizzas. Now we decorate.

AfD is so ubiquitous in the UK that I'm confident I could walk into even the smallest branch of HMV and find 5 vinyl copies minimum. In fact, no kidding, the supermarket Morrison's here had a little stand of vinyl around last Christmas and....you guessed it, about 10 copies of Appetite. Little 'classic albums' set-up with Sgt. Pepper, Rumors, Bat Out Of Hell, Nevermind and a couple of others. Dad gift market covered  :P

We live in the past here. It's really hard to find anything new - but old stuff is EVERYWHERE and seems to be all people buy. I find it pretty depressing really - I mean, I like a lot of these albums, but when I see them stacked up next to Baked Beans in a supermarket, with dull-looking middle aged couples flicking through them, I can't help but feel that something great is being lost. Vinyl has become a weird a weird middle-class fashion accessory- no Ikea-clad perfectly tidy and characterless house is complete without one of those record players that open up out of a case now, and about ten records next to it. I've no idea how or why things like Appetite and Nevermind have slipped into that bracket, but I sure as hell don't like seeing them in it! Can't wait until that dies down and I'm back to picking old records up for pennies in charity shops!

Music means too much to me to see it as a modern lifestyle image attachment, picked up at the same time as a new bathmat and a fucking yankee candle.

In some ways I agree, but we have to remember the original audience for those albums are now the middle-aged couples shopping for baked beans. And their lives now have other concerns and they probably haven't set foot in a record store in 10 years+. Seeing that might at least bring some memories back. We can't all rock forever.

To that end, if anyone wants some tix for Mannheim at a knock-down price, check my thread in the On Tour section. Sorry to mention it here but I'm in an absolutely desperate situation and need to get them sold ASAP.

I can't see a scenario where I'll go to another concert to be honest. Priced out of the market generally - this was intended to be my last big blowout. Life takes on other concerns. From 2000-2012 I saw probably 20 concerts a year. I haven't been to one in about 2 and a half years now.

Haha! Maybe that's what depresses me! Being greeted with reality......I've probably got too much fire in me still to even get angry about these things!

Weird you mention that- I was just ten minutes ago saying how I feel priced out of live music to a friend, and how sad I was about that. Things have got crazy now, to the point where I wonder who goes to concerts and big music events. I certainly can't go to as many as I did- and the thing holding me back is the price of them. In the 90s and 2000s I had so much less money, but used to go to so many concerts due to them being affordable.

Plays into the middle-class thing too. Evidently a lot of people have a lot of money because the stadiums still pack out, but most people I know can't afford ?100+ per ticket on a rock show no matter how much they'd like to go. Thought to myself 'okay, just this once', a trip away to Germany with my wife and that's my treat for the year...and that came back to bite me in the arse pretty quickly.  :hihi:

Yep- even smaller shows are really expensive now too. I just don't know who all these people are that can afford it. I saved massively for GNR shows - and I've sacrificed a lot of other gigs to go to them. You're not on your own mate- there are a lot of us out here, flat broke! feel sorry for you though, having to miss the show.

If they try a third pass through the States this fall, they won't get me again.

2016, that was a "never thought I'd see the day" type thing.  Cost what it cost.  Didn't care.

2017, it cost me even more for a smaller venue.  But, I rationalized that away thinking it could be the last time I ever see them.  I assumed they would go their separate ways after 2017.  Axl to AC/DC, Slash to Myles, Duff to wherever.

So when I saw 2018 announced, I mean, I'm happy for the Euro fans getting a second pass.  But, me, personally, I've seen this show twice now.  Think I'm good.

I'm certainly good at $300 a seat.

They come back in support of new music, I'm there no matter the cost.  Otherwise I'm good.  Agreed at these costs I'm good with seeing this show twice.

Even The Stones gotta put out something new to tour once in a while.  Fresh coat of pain never hurt anyone...Except Axl.

If they gear all this up again in 3 years or so, even with nothing new, I'm going to go.  I'm not going to sit there and lie to myself.

Won't be quite the "event" it was this time around.  But it's still my favorite band.

Greetings from Warsaw, Poland. It has been unnormally cold and some trouble functioning at night. I got a little bit lost not finding my accommodation. It was always close but where. Nothing to panic about but some frustration started to grow.

Then what do I find (before home), a GNR billboard for the summer. The gig is some 200 miles down south but surely everyone wants to know about it.

It gave me great strength to find my path. The summer is here. Soon

No they don?t. They go multiple tours without albums and when they do release one they play maybe one possibly two songs from it. Most causal fans don?t care. They want the experience of seeing the band and hearing the hits.

I do agree that prices are getting ridiculous but people are willing to pay for them. I do expect Guns to come back to America one last time at smaller arenas. I?d like to see the Big Three again (I?ve caught three shows from this tour) but prices will have to drop a bit for me.

Pretty cool that The Pink Slips are opening a bunch of shows. Duffs daughter plays in that band.

Manics are cool, i dig that Its So Easy cover posted here.

Greta Van Fleet are weird, they kinda seem like Led Zeppelin copy cats, that said they seem decent.

The Dead Daisies could be interesting, strong GNR connection.

The band will also support boyhood heroes Guns N? Roses on a series of European dates. ?That is a long-realised ambition for them,? said Thomas. ?Duff [McKagan, GN?R guitarist] personally asked them to do it because of the links between the bands.

All things point to that, it's been quiet for a while but personally I think they could have done one more run of indoor arenas in Europe. Different cities in the UK for instance.

Good to find some send away the tigers fans! That album isn't viewed too highly, but i rate it as oneof their best too. Do you like lifeblood? That gets a panning from everyone, invluding the band, but i love that one too.

Yes! Good stuff. ''Futurology'' is the one I didn't quite get yet but that's a subject for a new topic.

Same...but that was loved by most people! Sounded a bit of a mess to me though.

What do you guys think, is this the final leg of the NITL tour?

All things point to that, it's been quiet for a while but personally I think they could have done one more run of indoor arenas in Europe. Different cities in the UK for instance.

I don't just think it's end of the road for NITL, I think it's the end of the road of GNR....at least for a good few years.

I disagree, but I think we'll have to wait until 2019 for something to happen.

Completely agree with you with Slash announcing a new album and tour and rumours of Axl doing ACDC again it sounds like this European tour will be the end of GnR in its current form however with little or no communication from the band  who knows what the future holds but with Slash going back to his old band it sounds at the very least there will be a long hiatus.

I'm going to Berlin but didn't even consider pit tickets. I was just thinking what the fuck is this bullshit pricing ???

Think that's the case across almost all of the shows I've looked at. They're expensive tickets - especially for the sort of casual fans needed to fill these buildings, who have probably ticked GNR of their 'seen' list last summer.

This is getting crazier but luckily I haven't bought any tickets apart from Berlin for the summer. If I miss a gig in Germany and Poland it looks like I'm going to Moscow and Tallinn instead. I've been to the venue in Tallinn and it's the best on the tour.

I have also visited Moscow but a gig there ;D

Edited to add:

Flights booked, here we come

Being reported that they've announced a show in Iceland for July 24th, at the end of the current European run. Nothing seems to be on the official site though, so could just be speculation? Seems late to be adding dates to me.

It is relatively expensive.   Standing tickets are $190, Golden Circle are $400. Super VIP is $590.

And yes, pretty excited about it.

That seems a lot yeah - over 300 euros for golden circle! Wow! I don't know if that's in keeping with gig prices in general there though.....but it seems a lot to me!

Well, the best tip is that there is no beer in a normal supermarket. There just isn't and you need to ask locals where is the nearest state-owned shop but they actually sell it there

I don't remember how much was the taxi to faraway lands but it wasn't cheap. The best bet is to buy as much as you can carry from the airport.

A little nugget from the AFD - Locked N' Loaded press release:

Quote
The band?s ongoing success of the Not In This Lifetime? worldwide tour has now snagged the fourth spot on the list of the most successful tours in music history on its first two years, with no sign of slowing down. The next leg of the highly successful and anticipated world tour continues in Europe in June and July 2018 and, from what we hear, on into the fall.

Interesting spot! Difficult to see how it can continue into the fall though, with Slash's plans. It also contradicts some of the press material around the Iceland show, which stated it was the last one.....

Moscow ticket just arrived in my email box  :peace:

There was a possibility to collect as well but don't really want to do that anywhere, it's not about Russia. Also, it is entirely possible that they simply give you a printout only.

It was straightforward as fuck, just some Google Translate required. Plenty of tickets left but a number sold as well so it should be great eventually. Tickets are named and the site asked to provide your real name to avoid disappointment at the gate.

Just been having a look at ticket sales (in a bored moment!) - I'm quite surprised how many there are left for all the shows. All the venues I looked at even still had Golden Circle standing left. Guess a lot of people have ticked the box marked 'Guns N Roses' last summer? Perhaps stadiums were a bit of a reach for another run around Europe?

From my experience, more tickets are often put on sale once the shows get closer. I saw the Gothenburg show had only nosebleed seats available for a long time. Then suddenly one week there were lower bowl seats available, and then those were gone....

I think you're probably right- and I think that probably has a lot to do with 'encouraging' people to buy tickets from certain other places......illusion of demand and all that. But that's a huge topic to get into!

Crazy to think the tour starts in two weeks time - the year since they were last in Europe has flown by!

If you're into Aerosmith, get this, awesome shots, great camera work, strong production overall. I imagined the GNR boys on this setting for a moment, yeah, one can only dream!

Yeah, all over the boards.  Just your standard stage stuff.  GNR Bar probably has something on Facebook.  Apparently there is a sad picture of Blue watching Beta leave.  Haven't seen it but I don't want to wish they'd stay home, poor puppy.  Many who make sacrifices so we can see the band.
