Title: NITL tour is the 9th biggest tour ever Post by: bolton on July 17, 2017, 01:56:59 AM Without euroshows in July 2017 NITL tour grossed 339.900.000 acording the pollstar... I except 30-40 milions + on *Finland,Prague,Paris,Viena,Hollanad and Tel Aviv show).
Now NITL tour is 9th biggest tour ever. If the shows that are not included and those still coming follow the same avg gross numbers, then $500,000,000 should be easily surpassed! Title: Re: NITL tour is the 9th biggest tour ever Post by: sofine11 on July 17, 2017, 12:31:52 PM I don't think there was ever much doubt that if Slash & Axl were to reunite it would be absolutely huge. :)

Now a good strategy is needed to be able to keep up the enthusiasm of the fans. I am not talking about new songs (something I would take of course), but maybe a tour book or a book with the lithographs or stuff like that. Or a DVD. Or make a poll on the website where people can choose the best performance of each song out of ten selected concerts of this tour and take it as a basis for a live CD. Something to fill the void to the next step management surely has already planned. With one of the remaining legs being arenas, I'm not sure the avg gross will remain as high. But it has to be 50% more expensive than Las Vegas last year in order to maintain the avg gross from the stadium run. Las Vegas last year grossed about $6 million for two shows, that's an average of $3 million per arena show. It would just make sense that the average ticket price is always going to be higher in a arena show VS a stadium or festival. There are less seats.... I actually wouldn't mind paying a bunch more for the arena leg, if the show was changed up to match new venues. Arenas are second on my list of best places to see a band play. 1) Small bar 2) Arena 3) Amphitheatre 4) At home live via official streaming, ppv etc 5) Stadium 6) Festival Title: Re: NITL tour is the 9th biggest tour ever Post by: Spirit on July 17, 2017, 07:37:01 PM It would just make sense that the average ticket price is always going to be higher in a arena show VS a stadium or festival. There are less seats.... It's probably higher yes. But it would still need to be in average of about $300 to reach a single gross of $4.5 million for an arena show. I checked out the MSG show on ticketmaster, and with the exception of the three floor sections in the front, the tickets range from $109?$256. The average ticket price for the arena shows are probably in the $150?$200 range then. Sold out stadiums, at a very high average price ticket, all over the world, is exactly what every band would want!! Cant really do better than that. I am a fan off off ball shows as well.... Vegas late night at the House on Blues, @0 years later would be cool. Another New Years Eve concert would be great!!!!! At the time I said $84 mil sounded low. The $339 mil sounds about right. That is a huge number. By the end of tour, whenever that is, those guys are going to be super rich. Deservedly so.

The $84 million was the gross take-away (before fees were paid) for the band in 2016, which eventually ended up being the net sum of 42.3$ million. http://www.billboard.com/photos/7865108/highest-paid-musicians-2016-money-makers The $339 million is the gross income from ticket sales, the band doesn't get all of this money. It's divided between the promoter, band, management etc. The production itself has to cost quite a lot. Who knows what the bands take of it is..... And who knows what the split between the band is.... That 84 million seemed very low to myself. That was supposed to be the gross band revenue for the year. Record sales, merch, ticket sales etc would of all been included. Way to low of a number. 340 million in ticket sales. I would say the band takes at least half of that home. AT LEAST. Plus probably all the sales of merch at shows, that I am sure have added up to a ton of cash. Production costs are not as high as some people may let them on to be.... The cost of confetti hasn't ski rocketed over the years.... As there tour manager said. The stage is leased. There isn't a ton of pyro during the show, not a ton. The venues, actually are not that pricey to rent. Most of these stadiums are unoccupied this time of year and the venues clean up on food and beer sales... I am not sure why some people are talking about taxes and management fees, etc... Again stuff nobody knows about and something every artist pays. What is most on my mind is The band split or how much per show... A guaranteed amount or a split of total costs.... Again stuff nobody knows about and something every artist pays. What is most on my mind is The band split or how much per show... A guaranteed amount or a split of total costs.... As per Billboard, speaking generally a stadium concert will cost about $1.6 million to produce. Production costs run roughly $1.6 million -- plus talent costs and an average tax of five to seven percent. With those expenses, it could take a box-office gross of about $4.8 million just to break even, and with an acceptable promoter profit of $300,000-400,000, the gross would have to hit $5.1-5.2 million before the band would get into overage (meaning enough tickets have been sold for the band to receive a percentage of the gross). Stadiums provide the capacity to put 8,000-9,000 tickets at the P1 price point of about $250, providing the artist can sell at that level; one promoter interviewed by Billboard estimates a ticket scale ranging from $250 - $59. To come out in the black on these estimated expenses would require a $100 average ticket price on 50,000 fans, or a $90 average ticket price on 60,000 tickets sold. EDIT: I should add, the above is written with the assumption that GN'R will get paid $3 million up front for each show. We don't know what the real up-front number is. Then there's hospitality, hotels, transport (big jets in this case). The $84 million figure was based on about $190 million in ticket sales from 2016. So, they're getting near 50% of the total income from this tour. After paying taxes and fees, they ended up with $40 million net income for 2016. With the gross figure now being $339 million, I suppose they're looking at about $150 million gross income for the band to date. Title: Re: NITL tour is the 9th biggest tour ever Post by: bolton on July 18, 2017, 06:21:11 AM Yes there are 340 mil but without six shows...
I think these 6 shows had average tickets about 55000 Finland 50000 Prague 45000 Paris 67000 Viena 58000 Netherlands 65000 Israel 62000 Title: Re: NITL tour is the 9th biggest tour ever Post by: russkwtx on July 18, 2017, 12:51:46 PM Both the dollar amounts and attendance are staggering numbers. It is hard to believe just a couple of years ago I saw the band in Vegas during the residency and not every show was sold out in a venue that holds 4,000. The whole Slash/Duff attraction is just amazing.
