Despite not having a cool picture for you, I took the liberty of opening the topic since not many people know how to spell Gdańsk. In fact my understanding is that not even the Poles always use their letters but how are you ever going to learn otherwise ;D

One of the modern plastic looking stadiums, build for the Euro 2012 with a capacity of about 40 000 in concerts. Any idea how the tickets have been selling on this one?

There seems to be quite a lot left in the stands. I've been in the arena for football (soccer), plastic yes, great yes.

According to Agoda 99% of the accommodation has been booked and hotels.com is at 96% and they only have a few hostel beds and large apartments.

Fully booked hotels and a bunch of tickets to sell.. that's a bad combination! Well, they still have time to sell some, many might make their decision at the last moment.

Let me tell you, here in Gdańsk in the Old Town. The tourist season is starting and plenty of tourists who clearly are not going or are not aware. But it is all good, just look around and we see plenty of shirts :beer:

At a guess I'd say its gonna have a solidarity theme maybe Lech Wałęsa appearing in the image?

Annoyed though- queud for two hours before doors to ensure i got the litho shirt. when i got in they hadn't turned up and was told 'maybe they will turn up by the end'. At the end they were all gone and i was told 'ypu should have come half way through'. Very annoyed. Seems only those wandering around during gig got them. wow.

so-i'm desperate for one. if anyone can help.

Let's say there were a few things I would do differently if I was a promoter. But the group don't know about it or have any control over it. And maybe there is a reason I am not a promoter.

In any case just another perfect show and people around me seemed to enjoy like I did. I'm outside enjoying the sunshine now and already many GNR shirts seen with happy faces making their way home.

That shirt situation really sucks. Of course a shirt is just a shirt and I don't think many would go to a concert just to get one, but they are a special thing these shirts. Should be made available right when the doors open.

Crowd issues. People were going mental. Not seen a GNR crowd like it actually. Not nasty, just really really up for it. People were getting crushed.

Yeah absolutely. For me it was a big thing- I really really wanted one, and it's pretty disappointing. Apart from leaving mid gig though, it was out of my hands.

Not surprised. Don't get me wrong, I love Poland and Polish folks, but the crowds there are just nuts. Always pushing. I kinda like being physical and all that, but this was hardcore. Many times I have been on Polish gigs and there wasn't a single time I felt comfortable. Once on a Pearl Jam show I was literally fighting for some air and was damn afraid. Shoes totally ripped apart after the show.

Are there any Polish fans that could give us any insight on this? Same experience?

Reading that organisation was bad and policewanted to shut gig down! Apart fr the 'golden circle' beinf pretty much the whole floor, and the merch debacle I didn't see too much. anyone shed any light?

Wrong. Many of us care.

Yet we American crowds are always admonished for (gasp!) having seats down there.  Seats help alleviate some of that.

What you are describing not only sounds like zero fun, it sounds crazy dangerous.

Going to chuck my desperate plea for a gdansk shirt out there again. If anyone wants to sell theirs, I'm really keen. Or ideally, some more made and sold via nightrain would be ideal. Two gigs, money to spend at both, not spent!

Nope! Did all I could at both gigs, but didn't happen! Just bad luck really.

This should really be sorted out! Do they sell those on Ebay or something? What happens to shirts that are not sold anyway or are they always sold out.

I think they make smaller amounts of the gig-specific ones, to ensure they don't have any left over. The ones that cater for the whole tour just get packed up from venue to venue I suppose, with the aim being that they'll sell out by the end of the tour.
