Quick question, what's the best way of getting to Slane from Dublin and back to Dublin after the show

Im not sure yet. But a friend of mine lived in Dublin for some time, and went to some shows at Slane Castle, he said it would be a good idea to book hotel in a little town near the Slane. Im heading over to Dublin on the thursday and prob change hotel from Dublin to "that city i cant remember the name of right now" on Saturday.

If there is anyone that wants to drink some beer in Dublin on the Friday before the show.. hook me up  :beer:

There's usually buses running from Dublin. I'll be coming from Dundalk which is north of Slane, Dublin is south from Slane. It's motorway most of the way. I'll find out for fans travelling from abroad which is handiest. I know they're putting a campsite in Slane for the weekend at ?25

It was worth asking.

I was considering taking a GoPro to gig. I'm not one of these people who watches gigs through a screen so figured I could just hold it up occasionally when I want to take a quick vid. Do you guys think this would be ok or would I be losing a GoPro at security?

Also, not sure about rules on tickets etc. but I now have 2 extra general admission tickets. There was supposed to be 6 of us going but 2 people have since missed the opportunity of a lifetime 8)

As far as I know, GoPros are often not allowed.

Same with tablets.

Yeah I've been digging around on the net and non of the buses seem to be going via Drogheda which is why I'm a little concerned.

Funnily enough I emailed that company yesterday so will hopefully get a reply, will keep an eye on that website. Cheers for the response.

Anybody interested in 1x GA ticket for Slane face value?

Just planning the last part of our journey and wondered if anyone in Dublin could recommend a sensible time to leave the city for the show?

I wonder that too. I guess the castle is cloesed on the show day? Would be cool to to get there early and just walk around, maybe get to see some Irish cultural heritage. Anyone know how many people that will be in the golden circle? Will the bars open early? ;)

Doors open at around 14:00 I suspect.

Apparently it takes about 90 minutes to get to the venue from Dublin.

So it all depends on if you want to be there early when doors open......
