Title: Heart pill mystery, need advice Post by: ice cream sand pig on November 17, 2016, 12:29:14 PM Anyone hear know anything about heart medication?
Someone close to me that has a pace maker takes heart medicine. This person is supposedly trying to quit drinking. Some days, I find this person behaving in exactly the same way they behave when they are drunk; belligerent, aggressive, nonsensical, and generally very annoying. It is not kind of like they are drunk, it is exactly like they are drunk. The next day, this person will claim that they were not drunk, they just forgot to take their heart pills. Does this kind of thing sound familiar to anyone out there? I would like to figure out if this person is lying to me. Please give me some advice. Title: Re: Heart pill mystery, need advice Post by: GypsySoul on November 17, 2016, 12:43:43 PM Unfortunately, IMO the answer is the person is probably lying to you about not being drunk.
It might be possible that the side effects to TAKING a new medicine would give the appearance of being drunk. However, I have never heard of someone NOT TAKING their meds to give this particular illusion. My advise to you would be to NOT be confrontational with this person but instead to point out how you are very concerned for their well-being because they appeared to be drunk and since that it might be a side effect to taking or not taking their meds that they should consult their doctor immediately because something is definitely not right. Good luck to both of you. Title: Re: Heart pill mystery, need advice Post by: ice cream sand pig on November 17, 2016, 01:27:43 PM Thank you Gypsy. I have also never heard of this kind of thing, which is why I was suspicious. I appreciate your input. I have confronted the person about this before in a non aggressive way, and they insist it is the result of not taking the pills that day.
I need to find a way to determine accurately if they are lying or not, or if such a thing as they are claiming is actually even possible. Also, you can buy this person a "pill taking reminder" case or suggest they set their phone timer to go off at a specific time to remind them. If nothing else, it will show your concern. I dont exactly have a dr., but I will try and ask the local pharmacist. Thank you again!
