Title: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: Gunner12 on July 11, 2016, 07:55:45 PM Last call for on ticket - F1, Row 9, seat 28. Looking to upgrade to the GA section.
Anyway, of course parking is sold out...either $46 for general parking, $92 for VIP, and 109.25 for premium! Philly puts a 22% tax on this crap, it's the same thing for Eagles game, but not this ridiculous. A3rd party sites (Stubhub) have passes for $200. Fuck. That. The stadium is not located in the nicest area of Philly, by any stretch, and I'd prefer not to street park. It's not about the walk, it's a safety thing. Do I need to figure out subway/train schedules at this point? Any suggestions? Thanks! Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: 14 Yrs Of Silence on July 11, 2016, 08:53:03 PM Parking is sold out? Was planning on paying when I arrive.
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: lamf on July 11, 2016, 09:18:25 PM Parking IS NOT sold out. Reserved parking might be. There will be plenty of parking for those who arrive w/o prepaid.
If you want to save money park in FDR Park for free (1 block away) If you really want to save money park in center city and take the El to AT&T Station Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: sandman on July 11, 2016, 09:45:51 PM pre-sold parking is sold out, but only the Linc lots sell pre-paid parking. also, they do not sell ALL of their spots in the pre-sale.
Still, parking is going to be a disaster!! The entire Wells Fargo lot will be closed due to preparations for the DNC. there should be some spots in the Linc lot (although that lot is not big to begin with). Then there is CBP (good sized lot), Jettro, Holiday Inn, and a few other small lots. I would STRONGLY recommend taking trains. I have a few cars driving but we will be down there at 2PM sharp. Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: MrMojoRa on July 11, 2016, 10:08:57 PM To add to what Sandman said, "CPB" is Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies play. It's across the street (short walk) from Lincoln Financial. The Phillies do not have a game on the 14th, so that lot should be open for GN'R parking. You won't be able to tailgate there though.
If you get there early enough, you should be able to park in K-Lot, the lot outside of Lincoln Financial. There's other lots beyond Citizen's Bank Park, privately owned lots where the owners charge you to park. You're gonna pay minimum $40, and even more in the private lots. Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: Gunner12 on July 12, 2016, 08:29:21 AM Thank you for the information and clarification. That changes my plans in a good way and beats getting dropped off/sleeping at 30th street station/taking the early train home.....not proud that it's happened, but it's happened!
Yes, the DNC throws a shitty wrench in the whole thing as well. Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: johnreed3344 on July 12, 2016, 10:53:54 AM so many lots - you'll be fine
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: cwidene on July 12, 2016, 11:41:11 AM Yes, I live near Philly and the sports complex there has tons of parking around, Citizens bank alone will be plenty. Do not sweat the parking situation.
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: Sickthings3 on July 12, 2016, 12:39:08 PM I don't live in Philly and have never been to Philly and have had only one Philly Cheesesteak (though was buffalo) in my life, so I am not qualified to answer. But for the Chicago shows, I used an app called Spot Hero and got a cheaper parking spot in a garage (was actually a parking lot, but I've used it before for garages, guess it depends whats near). It'll pick the nearest lot and you can prepay. I like it. Maybe that's an option too.
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: D-GenerationX on July 12, 2016, 01:50:43 PM Your only concern about parking will be the amount. Both stadiums and the arena stick it right up your ass, and I don't expect this to be any different.
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: doooodickiebr on July 12, 2016, 02:59:19 PM Cab?
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: D-GenerationX on July 12, 2016, 03:09:16 PM Cab? I took Uber to see Pearl Jam in April at Wells Fargo, right across the street. Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: doooodickiebr on July 12, 2016, 03:14:14 PM I'm using Uber when we see gnr in Houston. Our hotel will be 5 miles from NRG stadium. Probably save $$ that way too.

Both stadiums and the arena stick it right up your ass, and I don't expect this to be any different. I found myself getting all worked up about that, then remembered that I paid $500 for 2 tickets, get to see them reunited.....a band that literally, no exaggeration, changed my life in 1987. I got over it. Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: D-GenerationX on July 12, 2016, 07:47:28 PM Your only concern about parking will be the amount. And the DNC prep will be negligible. There will be more than enough parking available day of show.
Title: Re: Parking in Philly? Need help! Post by: cwidene on July 13, 2016, 04:59:04 AM Went to see Paul McCartney last night in Philly. It was in the baseball stadium, Citizens Bank Park. Anyways, packed house... parked in stadium lot for $25 fyi. Walk was 200 yards. See you Thursday!!!
