Title: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Jay Tea on July 01, 2016, 09:40:06 PM Why do you think they play the Looney Tunes Theme before coming on stage?
Who do you think composed the intro music Frank and Melissa play before It's So Easy? Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Spirit on July 01, 2016, 09:41:43 PM The Merrie Melodies intro is just their quirky sense of humor I suppose.
The intro music is the theme from The Equalizer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPBkhbsk8HM Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Jay Tea on July 01, 2016, 09:59:48 PM Next question. Why doesn't he say "homefuck" anymore in Double Talkin' Jive?
Also why did he say it in the 90's? Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Spirit on July 01, 2016, 10:02:08 PM Next question. Why doesn't he say "homefuck" anymore in Double Talkin' Jive? Also why did he say it in the 90's? He did at the last show. It's a nickname he coined for Warren Beatty I think. Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: gcluskey on July 02, 2016, 08:35:02 AM Home fuck was directed at Warren Beatty during Paris gig rant in '92. Original GnR were described as real life cartoon caricatures of themselves so the Looney Toons intro made me LOL when I first heard it. Nice touch 😂
Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Bazfreak on July 03, 2016, 01:43:01 PM What do you think of ISE as the opener? For me the Ultimate Opener would be Perfect Crime...fast, furious...a punch in tha face!
Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: gnrrock on July 03, 2016, 01:46:36 PM I think ISE is a perfect opener.
Title: Re: Looney Toons + Intro Post by: Princess Leia on July 03, 2016, 02:48:23 PM I love the Looney Toons. I find it really funny. Out Ta Get Me, Coma and now homefuck are back in the game. Things that I used to miss. Now I'm enjoying them again :smoking: Hopefully other things I'm still missing will make a come back as well. But I'm in no rush. This tour has just started.

For me the Ultimate Opener would be Perfect Crime...fast, furious...a punch in tha face! I'm obviously only guessing but it seems that ISE as the opener was one of the compromises made during the rejoining negotiations. One side probably wanted WTTJ. The other side wanted CD. They settled on ISE. As for Perfect Crime, I believe it was even listed among the alternate songs of previous line-up incarnations. Doubt they would open with it. Don't know if everyone is still walking on eggshells at this point where they're not comfortable speaking up about the setlist. But I think, if it is something that say Slash really wants included, he should use the BBF Don't Cry tactic of just adding it to his solo and see if Axl feels the same and joins in. And if Slash uses it instead of going into the SCOM riff, Axl will probably come out and kiss him on the mouth w/tongue!!!! Why does there always have to be 'compromise', 'eggshells', 'not comfortable speaking up' spin? ISE was used to open a whole bunch back in the day anyway, it's also a genuinely killer opener. The setlist they're playing is fucking dynamite. Coma is a goddamn staple now. Watching any of the performances, viewing any of the setlists, how much FUN these guys are having... if there was even a shred of him VS him, this wouldn't be happening. Clearly they've moved on. Sorry, not meaning to have a go. I just read that in a particularly snarky manner, seems a lotta projected negativity for the sakes of it when everything else is pointing clearly in the other direction. |
