Yeah, I'd suspect the 7pm start time is due to an earlier curfew. First outdoor show, so this could be the template for such shows going forward, like Foxboro.

I would guess there may be some sort of a curfew tonight then, but not as severe as 11:15 in Foxboro. Maybe midnight? What time did AIC go on in Detroit and how long did they play?

Show was awesome. Guns started at 9:23 ... the earliest it's every started in the 14 shows I've been too. The band looks to really enjoy each other on stage, natural comarderie.

Watching clips today - giving me goosebumps - axl's screams in LALD, the punch and ferocity of the show - its just incredible!!!!!!!!!!

The stage is very similar to the stage from the use your illusion tour..  does anyone else think so :)

PS.  The band sounds and looks amazing..  I'm so happy when they tour, I most likely won't get to see the band live this tour because I'm from Nova Scotia so i'm glad this site is here to visit and keep us up to date so thank

Last night's show was epic. The whole band is tight and Axl sounded great. Slash, Duff and the crew blew me away. The Vegas shows were special and so was this one. If you're oddly on the fence about going to one of these shows go for it. You shouldn't be disappointed. I have a video of "Out to Get Me" which I plan on posting later. For those going to the KC show on Wednesday I'm envious.

To me, the laugh they shared matters more than what they were laughing about (even though I wondered too).  That happened at the end of "Wish You Were Here"... great video and you see that moment a little more clearly.

I was at the 4/9 show in Vegas and at the DC show last night and they just keep getting better and better.  I was there with a huge group of friends and everyone was blown away.  They all basically said it might have been the best concert they've ever been to.  Beautiful weather, great tailgate, and Guns n Roses in top form.  They don't make bands like this anymore.  It doesn't get much better.

Amazing show, as expected!!  My friend and I pulled in the parking lot around 8:45pm.  As we got out of the car we could hear Alice In Chains.  They finished a song and then we heard them say the next was the last song.  There was still a lot of traffic pulling in and lots of people tailgating.

Went to the front entrance and found a merch trailer.  The really limited T-Shirt was sold out but they still had the posters.  Bought them both and then after putting them in the car we entered at the back of the stadium.  Just looking inside it was the biggest crowd I have ever seen!  Some upper sections were empty but still a massive amount of fans!  As were were going down the long stairs the GN'R video screens were already on.

We were originally going to stand at the back of PIT 1 but when we entered the PIT there was a space on the rail right in front of the far small runway corner thing!   Most of the PIT fans were crowded around the main runway and middle of rail but we still had a perfect spot where there was actually a little space between people.  I couldn't really see Melissa,Frank, or Dizzy from that spot because of monitor wedge but Axl,Duff,Slash were like 5 feet in front of us many times and Richard a few.  I tried to take some photos with my small pocket camera(no flash) but the security guy in front of me started yelling and telling me to put it away.  He swatted at another girl later who had an even smaller pocket camera.  Didn't know why because I wasn't filming but seems everyone around had phones.  Took a few phone pics but they were crap.  Had also brought a disposable film camera which didn't cause an issue.  It takes a week to get them developed anymore.  During Paradise City I just started taking photos with my pocket camera and he swatted at me again but I got a few good ones.  At the very end I just moved over toward the middle so I could get a group photo of the whole band.

Highlights of the show would be very hard to pick.  I really LOVED Rocket Queen!!  It was just over the top!!  Hearing Coma and Double Talkin' Jive were amazing as well.    Was glad they played "Patience"!  Axl said something really funny but not sure after what song.  He said something like "Remember Woodstock?"  very short pause then "Me Neither?".  During "Civil War" and other songs I would tap my friend and we would look back at the crowd and just see all this huge stadium just totally feeling these songs!  Everyone in the front was super coool and friendly!  Wish I could do PIT again for Philly but we will still be there no matter what!!   If you have the chance don't miss this tour!!

These shows are so good the set list is really irrelevant but there are so many GNR songs or other covers every fan wants to see over The Seeker. Seems to be universal.

I think the fan base as a whole really nailed that the new guitar combo was going to steal the show.

Something tells me Slither may be one alternative for Raw Power this tour....Duff on Vocals. That would be super cool and shows that Axl is a really nice guy!  :hihi:

You have a point. There's no Attitude in the alternate list.

But then again, Don't Cry and Patience are both listed. The alternate songs could be the ones they just add to the main set.

If Slither is played ... Fingers crossed that Axl is singing.

I hope we see at least one alternate in K.C.

I think you might start seeing more shakeups at the venues they're playing two shows, like Chicago, Boston, NJ/NY and LA... you'd have to assume a lot of the same people are gonna make up those crowds. I think they'll get something different both times out. That's up to the band. No complaints at all so far.

The song sounds dead to me, especially Slash's uninspired solo and the coda, which is my favorite part

I always felt the song sounded "empty" live, but I much prefer this low-key approach than the full drive solo.

Tried to read this lenghty review. But the guy thought The Godfather Theme was a surprise. And that the CD songs were the moment to go the bathroom... So yeah, fuck that.

A surprise to people who haven't followed the band closely this year I guess. Probably the case with many fans at the shows.

I don't share his opinion on the CD songs, but I understand the stance. Many fans aren't too keen on the new material, and are mostly interested in the old stuff. I suspect them not giving the songs a chance when they first came out, so it lessens the enjoyment in hearing the songs live, they basically don't know the songs. Their loss I guess.

Interesting review. Apart from a very stilted writing style, and clearly not very familiar with the band's past shows, I think probably captures the feeling of many of the ordinary ticket buyers... so, basically the greater preponderance of the audience, the ones who make this an arena show instead of a theater show. His basic theme is that the band, and Slash especially, are the most consistent part of the show. I hate to bring this up but Axl is sounding less like Axl/DC and more like Axl '00-'15, which is a little disappointing knowing now what he's capable of doing on a nightly basis. I specifically agree with his assessment of SCOM... it's been ages since we've had a really good performance of the band's biggest hit, not since the UYI tour. And it's usually one of the songs Axl sings the least passionately. Flame away, if you will, but I know how good that song is, and I know what the great live performances have sounded like. Now it's usually the weakest moment of the show. I know a lot of people here won't agree, but here's a pretty neutral reviewer saying as much. He recognizes that Axl is very up and down... at times the weakest link, and occasionally the supernova from 86-93.

I understand that. This is the average guy who's going to the shows knows very little. Problem is that a reviewer should've know better in my opinion.

I disagree. The 2006/07 performances were highlights to me. Even in 2002, the Madison Square Garden performance was so damn eletrified.

Not really, I think. If anything, previous knowledge of shows in a concert tour could color your opinion on the particular show you are reviewing. First impressions are more often correct rather than incorrect. Had this been the 10th show of this particular tour this guy had seen, I suspect the review would have been a bit different.

A reviewer should certainly have knowledge of the band and their history, that shows in a story and makes it better for sure, I agree with that.

Some songs he truly sounds as good as ever and some it seems he rests his power on for sure.
SCOM in 2010 is way diff than now.
But for sure knowing ACDC nowX Axl at least can turn it on at any moment.

He does civil war pretty damn amazing and many others.

As for the CD songs, I'm just a believer that you can't die on that hill.  Honestly, comments on the matter like this are tame.  Probably the best we're going to do.  I just think any belief that people are going to come out of this tour with some newfound appreciation for the CD era are not realistic.

Do agree about SCOM too, I'm afraid.  Think Axl sounds as good as he has in years.   But I think he does still sort of struggle on that one particular tune.  But it's the only one.

Its hard to choose when you have a version of Dont Cry where the drummer ruins completely the song original sound and pace... I love Frank but he is ruining Dont Cry imo...

I disagree, Axl truggles on a few other tunes such as YCBM, but makes up for it by sounding amazing at a few others like Nightrain. I did expect a bit more after what he did for AC/DC, but this is still the best he has sounded since 2010. It must be a bit boring for him to sing SCOM at this point I think.

I truly wonder what keeps him from replicating that unbelievable AC/DC form in GNR tunes.

I think acdc is easier to sing for Axl cause it's all kind of the same style whereas with GNR, he has to switch his voice so much where it's much more diverse

I do think he can rasp it up with more power if he wanted, but that is is probably exhausting.  With AC/DC, he would not have been treated well had he taken it easy as he does with SCOM.

Imagine if he sang Thunderstruck like he sings SCOM?  It would not have gone over well.

Anyone else agree that he could sing SCOM more hardcore if he wanted?

I don't think I've gotten a chance to comment after attending this show, but this was absolutely amazing! First ever GNR show and everyone sounded phenomenal!! Favorite moment of the night - Slash and Duff standing beside Axl at the piano on the Layla outro  :drool:
