Former Guns N' Roses members Izzy Stradlin and Matt Sorum have collaborated on a track called FP Money. The track will be released in July and was recorded and mixed by JT Longoria at Brotheryn Studios in California. As well as founding GNR guitarist Stradlin and former GNR drummer Sorum, FP Money features Damon Fox on keyboards, Tony Babylon on bass and Rick Richards on lead guitar. Stradlin handles vocal duties on the song. Sorum says: "Izzy Stradlin and I have collaborated on a new song he wrote called FP Money out in July everywhere. It was great to reconnect again and make some rock'n'roll with this great singer, songwriter guitarist and all around cool dude. "Music for music's sake, it was really organic and fun. Hope you take a listen. And turn it up!" Neither Stradlin or Sorum were recruited to take part in the Guns N' Roses reunion of Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan. The lineup ? which still has a string of dates to come on its Not In This Lifetime tour ? is completed by drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus. Melissa Reese has also been involved as a second keyboard player. GNR are the bookies' favourites to headline Glastonbury next year. Judging by what Izzy has recorded the last 25 years, it doesn't seem like GNR is missing much. There is literally not one single song Izzy Stradlin has put out since he left GNR that I would consider good. Every single song sounds like an incomplete rough idea for a potential song, not a finished product. It's funny as I love his contributions to GNR, but after seeing what he has done since, it makes me wonder how much Axl, Slash and Duff improved upon his ideas. That said I will definitely give it a listen because I am a big Izzy fan in the context of playing with GNR members. So maybe him and Matt Sorum together can put something good out. EDIT TO ADD: Ok nevermind, just heard the new song, its crap. Guitar sounds like a 70's era Rolling Stones throwaway b-side. Verses and chorus that drags and goes nowhere.
