Title: I'm playing 3 shows around NY/NJ with Appetite For Destruction (tribute)May/June Post by: Jay Tea on April 30, 2016, 01:21:39 AM For the first time in 4 years I'll be reprising the role of Dizzy Reed in the tribute band Appetite For Destruction.
I've been going to see them since 1997 and they are so great. I saw them open for Gilby. I saw the old singer call out someone in the crowd and get in a fight during Double Talkin' Jive. I tried out to be their new Axl in 2010 but got beaten out by a guy I knew from Arlene's Grocery Karaoke called "Axl Rob". He sounds so much like early 90's Axl that I would put my ear to the speaker just to make sure I wasn't having an audio hallucination. The last person to play keys in this band before me was the real Dizzy Reed earlier this year when he joined AFD for some songs at Revolution in Amityville. We'll be doing almost all of "Appetite" and lots of other treats from "Illusions" "Lies" and the UYI tour.
